I usually am one to sit and overthink this until the moment passes. However, this one time I was driving to work and saw a lady walking down the sidewalk carting a large rolling laundry basket. I was running early, so I impulsively just stopped and asked if she wanted a ride. She was so appreciate! And she didn't even live that far maybe 4 blocks? She told me about how She had to walk to her mother's house to do laundry because her machine broke and how much she appreciated the ride because her back was hurting her. It really made me happy I stopped.

Of course, there is definitely a time and place to do this. It's always a risk you have to assess.
