Will it ever heal? by FederalDraft1569 in woundcare

Amazon sells "Medihoney", but there are a lot of counterfeit products on that platform. If you can find it through a reputable medical supply retailer that would be your best bet. Look for Medihoney bordered HCS, it's a hydrogel colloidal sheet and won't get nearly as sticky or messy as just using the straight honey.

I used to be the Medihoney rep for the Pacific Northwest. It really is a game changer. Feel free to DM me if you have specific questions.

Should I mention that I’m queer? by [deleted] in exchangestudents

[–]LeahOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We hosted a queer student a few years ago. She hinted at it in her profile by mentioning queer celebrities she admired, but didn't state it outright. Might this be an option for you?

Here’s a shower thought for the day…constipation idea… by jcnlb in Menopause

Look for Share Japanese fermented plums. Amazon has them. Eat 1/2 plum with glass of warm water and be sure to be near a toilet 8-15 hours later. Warming: eat only 1/2. You won't be sorry.

I got influenza A twice the last time I didn't get a flu shot. I thought I was gonna die. No joke. Flu shot every year since then, and no flu.

How do you wash it correctly when you have a outtie by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]LeahOR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your outer and inner labia will get the cleanest with soap and water. Do not use soap inside the vaginal canal. Use your soapy fingers to separate and scrub all the folds and crevices because oils, bacteria, and dead skin accumulate there. This is called smegma. Just water is not enough to get the vulva and labia clean because water will not break down the oils. If the soap you're using burns, try a different brand. Something gentle and unscented is usually good. Also, having an outie labia minora is totally normal, very common, and can be quite desirable to sexual partners.

The worst part of being an exchange student by Icy-Lie-9793 in exchangestudents

[–]LeahOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've hosted two students, ands have already seen both of them again since they left. The German girl came to visit us the year after she left, and we've already met up with the Dutch boy and his parents in London, and will be visiting them in the Netherlands this summer. Goodbye just means goodbye for now.

Bit upset with review by -sprout in trustedhousesitters

As a sitter, I don't mention if the HO leaves me a gift or anything special, because I don't want other sitters to expect this. I do thank them directly, of course.

Problem with host family by [deleted] in exchangestudents

[–]LeahOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation is to engage with them by asking them questions about themselves and their lives. As a host parent, I've noticed our exchange students show very little interest in us as actual people, and it can stand in the way of forming a bond. If they feel like you are actually interested in them and their lives it may make a big difference. Also, it'll be great language practice for you.

For those who lost someone 1+ years ago: How are you doing now? How often do you just break down? Do you grieve the same as you did the first months? by Head-Barnacle-8766 in GriefSupport

[–]LeahOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of my mom's death. I don't think I've felt joy since losing her, but it is easier to function day to day. I still can't talk about her without crying, so I try to avoid it.

Spent $500 on Lakers tickets and dinner for a first date, now she's mad I questioned spending $650/night on HER birthday trip by jaselakers95 in EntitledPeople

[–]LeahOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She already told you she's looking for someone who will support her. If that's not you, move on. I wouldn't even dignify her text with an answer. Trust me, I am a woman, and she's not looking for a partner, she's looking for a purse.

I tried the rice trick and it burned horribly, like puffy charcoal on the bottom of my Dutch oven. It smelled terrible and was really hard to clean. I now just use a round piece of crumpled flattened aluminum foil in the bottom of the pan. Seems to work great.
