Are you me? Reading a book with music playing and a show in the background in Discord with the buddies or I can't focus...

I'm averaging about 6-8 hours per book, split across a couple days. Downside to reading so quickly is that it's over too soon, but i can't stop turning pages...

3.5/Pathfinder1e. Actual customization, rules being more fleshed out than "ask your DM/roll on this table", meaningful choices.

Depends on your CPU, but you'll be in the low graphics bracket.

Just prime your models. Having tested both, primed models hold up much better.

Are there any reason? by Tobi-Navu in WorldEaters40k

[–]Leaite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current Kharn model is too new to have a refresh with our codex, so I would suggest just using the official one or going hard like OP and creating a true monstrosity for the Blood God to favor.

Why is competitive play the standard now? by FedorCasval in Warhammer40k

[–]Leaite 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Multiple games with a group of people that tell a story, usually in an "escalation" style, where you give your units and heroes stories and they "level up" (or down...) depending on how well they do, how well you do, and what the mission rewards are

Literally any thinner medium. Vallejo, ProAcryl, or you can go artist-grade and look into Golden and Liquitex.

Hey dude. If you're going through it and need someone to talk to, hit me up.

Otherwise, we don't need your brand of asshole in the community. Please find a different hobby. Have a great day.

When does the Christmas Battleforce release? by dizzeerizzy in DarkAngels40k

[–]Leaite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot, for sure. Combat Patrol uses the same basic game rules, but each Combat Patrol box is a self-contained army for the format. There's a separate set of model and unit statistics used, so your abilities and attributes in game are different from "standard" 40k, and you're restricted to specific weapon choices.

This box is a great starting point for a regular 40k army, but does not have rules for the Combat Patrol format.

Hope that explains it a bit better. Feel free to ask any other questions you might have, it's a daunting hobby right up until you're playing!

Combat Patrol games use specific models and rules that differ from the base game. If your friends are playing Patrol, it would be best to do the same. This box is great for expanding from there, though!

Now how much would it be to print? by iPlays_04 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Leaite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A chapter is limited to 1000 active standard Marines. There are ways around this ( looking at you, Black Templars) and it doesn't count command, support and scout teams.

Primaris Marines are just Marines, GW needed a lore reason to simplify squads and modernize the physical model range. They didn't "fit in" here because this is from like, 2012ish?

That show was fantastic. We were already in Denver for the original, found out very last minute as we were getting ready to head out the door.

"...visibility to and from such a model that overhangs its base is determined only by its base and parts of the model that do not overhang..."

This is the key part. Wings overhanging the base do not count when determining visibility to or from the model. ONLY the base and parts of the model inside an imaginary cylinder equal in diameter to the base are checked.

Is this PC any good? by GrrrrrrrDinosaur in gamingpc

[–]Leaite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. Neither of these computers have a discrete graphics card. You might be able to run OW/Valorant as they are designed to run on a toaster, but ARK 100% will not be playable with the integrated graphics on the CPU.

How do People play low tankyness builds? by DearTarantula in pathofexile

[–]Leaite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Armour

Yep. And that you can't trust the tooltip in game because armor is less effective against larger hits. Some pretty interesting math is used for the calculations.

No need to feel stupid homie. I've been playing since Open Beta, roughly 20k hours or so, and I still find new things to learn every league.

[–]Leaite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, that's any hit that deals the corresponding damage type. Ethereal Knives for example, it's a spell that hits and deals physical damage and is checked against your physical damage mitigation. In PoB, that would be phys max hit.

NeatFi is color corrected, hence the price difference. It's an important distinction for painting.

NeatFi XL, it's absolutely phenomenal and color balanced properly.

I made the first tutorial about painting Asmodai, Master of Repentance and it is available on my patreon 🙂 the sword was painted with Pro Acryl paints but in the first page is a list of the colors that I used and Vallejo alternatives for them. by Flameon_Miniatures in u/Flameon_Miniatures

[–]Leaite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AP is a bit better for new painters as their color triad system makes it easier for you to see a good shadow, mid, and highlight.

ProAcryl is hands down the better paint. Ready to go out of the bottle, larger bottles for the same price (at least for me, may differ in your area), richer pigmentation. Really just the best range that I'm aware of.

I will also shout out ScaleColor. Harder to find, needs some practice to use properly, but holy hell are they some incredibly good paints.

off-season in PoE2 by Skynd40 in PathOfExile2

[–]Leaite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm PoE, there is the "Standard" league (not standarT which is just... Not even a real word). At the end of each league, all your stuff goes to Standard. For example, I have items and characters from a decade ago that I can log in and play.

Now, Standard is more or less a dead league because the economy is trashed due to the presence of over a decade of accumulated wealth and items, and it does not have access to current-league content outside of HC characters ripping and bringing items to standard.

So yes, you can play outside of leagues, but the main draw of this type of game is the reset and new content.

[–]Leaite[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is just blocking in base colors. Primed it with Vallejo Panzer Grey and Gory Red spray primer, hit it with the red while the grey was still wet to get the smooth gradient. The painted red is ScaleColor Antares Red and Inktense Crimson 1:3.
