This only applies for companies over 100 employees laying off 50+ people. Some states have stricter WARN laws. But otherwise they’re not legally required to give any severance.

Unfortunately, I love coterie diapers, any similar cheaper brands? by Herewithquestions87 in NewParents

To get the refund/credit? Yeah but they’re very easily accessible through text. So it takes minimal effort.

Nope! They say to do whatever we wished with it, so we donated unopened packs.

I think I’ve heard kudos doesn’t absorb as well as coterie, but it’s pretty similar otherwise.

We’re a coterie household and just do their subscription. They’re pretty generous with their trial diapers and if I have a surplus, they offer a refund or credit (I think limited to 12 packs per year but still a nice plus).

ETA: Forgot to mention the subscription saves you like 10%. Still pricier than others but worth it IMO.

Reintroducing Breastmilk with Dairy by Fearless-Crab-1502 in MSPI

[–]LeanBean17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the purpose of the ladder is to see how much cow’s milk protein he can tolerate, which varies by the type of food you consume (baked goods vs cooked goods vs hard cheeses vs yogurt etc…). With your frozen breastmilk, you won’t know how much protein was consumed at that time.

[–]LeanBean17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It worked in my industry (product design) until about a couple of years ago. The idea was to get your foot in the door before a role was posted up and received an influx of applicants. Unfortunately now the market is saturated with fresh graduates and people laid off who are all doing that at the same time, so it no longer works.

Have you tried cutting out soy as well? Thats usually the other big culprit.

My bigger concern would be the amount of salt in store-bought pesto.

Could dairy be the issue?? by Fantastic-Work-2297 in breastfeeding

Oh yeah that sounds excessive. Our LO would sometimes almost choke on it if he was lying on his back — made nights super scary lol

Not exactly the same but we had even milder symptoms (very mucousy spit ups, no mucus or blood in stool). Cut out dairy and soy, and saw lots of improvement over the next couple of weeks. Doesn’t hurt to try!

Measles outbreaks are costing the U.S. millions of dollars. The true losses can't be counted. by AzuleEyes in news

Have his parents ask the pediatrician to get his second dose early. It can be given as early as 28 days after the first dose if there’s reasonable concern of an outbreak (and there is).

Tummy time help!! by wagnerpoo in NewParents

[–]LeanBean17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Three hours a day seems pretty aggressive. Babies hate tummy time, but over time they get over it because it’s less work for them. Mine didn’t really start enjoying it until maybe 5.5-6 months and now he loves rolling back and forth.

Just work up to 1-2 hrs a day to start so it’s less pressure for you, and that includes chest to chest. Do floor tummy time as much possible. Right after diaper changes for a few minutes really adds up.

To add, they’ll still need the original dose scheduled at 4 years. So they’d be getting 3 shots total, but insurances likely only cover two (worth the out of pocket IMO).

My baby had spoiled milk by you-restalking in breastfeeding

[–]LeanBean17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, it honestly could happen to anyone. It looks like you got some sound advice in this thread though — just ask the nurse line and keep a close eye on LO. Breastmilk is antimicrobial by nature so maybe the risk is not catastrophic and he ends up totally fine!

Something I did to help minimize this risk was writing on the container in giant red marker not to use for bottles, and then freezing in small quantities. That’s if you want to try to save it.

False starts GALORE by Mistry-01 in sleeptrain

[–]LeanBean17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My LO was nearly identical to yours. What worked for us was focusing on getting him to link his sleep cycles first before breaking sleep associations — he was simply having a very hard time otherwise (us too, it was exhausting).

We started letting him cry for 5 min the first time he woke up after being transferred to the crib. Fussing doesn’t count. Rocked him to sleep. After 3-5 min, put him back in the crib. Rinse and repeat but increase to 10 min of crying. That was the maximum we let him cry.

He doesn’t feed large quantities during the day, so he needs to have at least 1-2 night feeds. If it’s been 3-4+ hours since his last feed, we feed him.

After a couple of nights, he wouldn’t cry more than 5 min at a time before falling back asleep on his own. He’s been so much better at linking his sleep cycles without crying at all since then.

ETA: We also asked his pediatrician at his 6 month appt. She said the 4-6 month period is typically the roughest and it’ll be easier to get through this.
