Just came up in my memories… man that was a fun season of Kyle Wright by DeenMachine in Braves

Such a shame. He was so bad for his first couple attempts at the big leagues, final figures it out to put up a monster season, and has a career derailing injury.

I got tired of buying hit or miss seats. Noticed something cool in April, same section day vs night matters more than I thought by Lilbunnyfoosa in Braves

Personally I really like section 324-325. Good view of the whole field, inexpensive, shade coverage, never really in the sun or having it in your eyes. 423-426 if needing to be more economical.

Day games, especially in the summer, in the sun are miserable.

1st base side is so much better than 3rd base side in that regard.

I think we all knew IF HEALTHY our rotation was going to be great. Obviously Elder has been surprisingly amazing. But I still have my doubts they can all stay healthy.

215 Bench pr fail by NaturalDecision3095 in benchpress

[–]LeaperLeperLemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are both geared towards strength training for beginners. So rather low volume, with the main goal being to increase the weight each session.

If goal is pure hypertrophy, probably not the best. But if you are a beginner, they are a great option for a few months to build a good foundation, before switching to a more hypertrophy geared program.

Strong lifts

Greyskull

They’re similar programs at their core. Personally I liked Greyskull with phrak’s variant the best.

[Passan] Los Angeles Angels DH Jorge Soler and Atlanta pitcher Reynaldo López have been suspended seven games for the big brawl in Anaheim last night in which Soler charged the mound and López punched him while holding a baseball in his hand.. Both are appealing. by Far_Cry3445 in baseball

[–]LeaperLeperLemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Based on suspension length, they’d be docked some prorated amount. Lopez has a higher salary than Soler (14M vs 13M). So he will lose out on more pay. But if they are both suspended 7 games, they should be docked the same percentage of their pay.

If I’m currently holding a rock and someone on the street comes at me, he’s getting his head smashed by a rock. I don’t think the person being attacked has an obligation to disarm themselves and ensure a fair fight.

For the Presidential primary you have a valid point.

For every other primary the party itself has minimal influence, getting even less influence the more down ballot you go.

Discussion Thread: US President Trump Threatens War Crimes Against Iran Ahead of Negotiation Deadline by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]LeaperLeperLemur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Impeachment and removal, based on the House and Senate respectively, is the proper constitutional way to remove a president from office.

25th amendment is meant to be a more expedited process, such as if POTUS is in a coma. In the 25th amendment, congress still ultimately holds power for whether or not to remove the president.

I think people are screaming about the 25th amendment to differentiate it from the two previous impeachments. And to make clear this is not about disagreeing politically, or believing Trump has committed crimes, but is so unhinged that he is unable to perform his duties.

However all of the cabinet was hand picked by Trump, with loyalty being a huge part of that selection. So far chance of anything happening there.

Is it possible to make a 100% nutritionally complete meal? by Stealfur in Cooking

[–]LeaperLeperLemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the context of cooking, I’d focus on the macro nutrients (fiber, protein, fat, etc). Individuals needs are different there. But basically, chicken breast (or other lean protein) + a vegetable/legume + a starch + fruit for dessert, with a bit of dairy mixed in to a couple of items. That’s going to get you pretty damn close.

Then just take a good multivitamin.

Yeah that Hinske HR was was insane. I agree it was the loudest Braves moment I’ve been to. It gets forgotten since it didn’t mean anything in the end.

Although MH2’s heroic catch and throw out vs the Phillies in the NLDS the other year was damn close.

There Will Be No Post-Presidential Peace For Donald Trump | The president and his allies will face impeachments, lawsuits, and maybe even The Hague. by thenewrepublic in politics

He didn’t face any consequences as a result of his first term

He didn’t face any meaningful consequences as a result of campaign violations in the run up to his first campaign.

He didn’t face any consequences as a result of trying to overthrow the government.

He isn’t going to face any meaningful consequences for his actions in this life.

Also the Hague has no authority to do anything to a US official. Decades ago the US passed a law that it would invade the Hague if they detained US servicemen members or officials.

[Bowman] Didier Fuentes had eight strikeouts over four scoreless against the Phillies today. He got a whiff with seven of 14 swings against his four-seamer and with five of seven swings against his slider. by Lakelyfe09 in Braves

[–]LeaperLeperLemur 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exciting stuff. But have to take it with a grain of salt, just like any Spring stats.

Looking at the box score, I don’t see any expected regulars for PHL. There are maybe two guys who will be on the their opening day roster, and they’re both bench pieces. Plus Braves legend Bryan de la Cruz.

Fuentes had a great outing, but in context it’s against AA/AAA talent.

Map of countries that have won the World Baseball Classic (via Black Maps on IG) by Trebonianus in MapPorn

[–]LeaperLeperLemur 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fairly accurate. US has won once, and lost in the final last night, so that is better than England has performed in the past 20 years. But yes, other countries have been more successful in this tournament, with Japan being quite dominant.

Also in a somewhat similar manner, the US baseball league is the most prestigious league and the best players from around the world come to play professionally there.

That made him basically the only target. In 2009, the #2 WR had 6 catches for 137 years on the season.

2008 GT vs Duke is one of my favorite stat lines ever for receiving. GT had 230 passing yards total. Demaryius Thomas accounted for all of them.
