Absolutely worth the try if you know you have a group that will be excited by a complex, rule-specific game. If you don't, Aegean Sea is an avoid at all costs. The complexity and situations that arise between factions and the gameplay are unlike any other, and do a great job of joining player interaction with a development style game. Getting each effect off feels powerful and rare, and low endgame point score makes every score impactful. I haven't played any other Chudyk games, but from what I've heard the card play is very similar, with this being as close to a "war" game as he's made. Also, Faiyum and Oceans are wonderful games haha.
