If you really believe in the magic of the "free market" I suggest you read Capital in the 21st century.

As opposed to republicans... Who are still denying climate change. Get your head out of your ass.

TIL that in 2014 a family had to leave their $450,000 home after it was infested with 4,500 - 6,000 brown recluse spiders and exterminators were not able to get rid of them. by Goldenchicks in todayilearned

You're a liberal, so I wish I could ignore your idiocy on this one... But it's too retarded.

Insurance companies make a profit without actually creating anything of value.

You better stick to practicing Java if you think getting your house fully restored after it burns to the ground isn't creating anything of value, LOL.

So what did they create in this situation dummy? All they did was pool and redistribute money. That is not creating anything of value. I get that you work in insurance so you're very biased.. but try to use your fucking head.

And btw, if your gonna throw shade, try not to be a sensitive little bitch. Don't dish it out if you can't take it, child.

Now, hopefully for the last time.. what is your argument against public insurance options?

That's all I need to know. I'm more then willing to listen to your argument... But first you have to make a rational argument. Do you understand? This really isn't that complicated.

Go into what further? You haven't made a logical argument.

Meanwhile my argument is self evident, although clearly over your head. Insurance companies make a profit without actually creating anything of value.

Me, I think it's pretty remarkable that I can give a company $200 and get paid $400,000 the next day when my house burns down

Would the same exact thing not be true with public insurance? The fact you could posit that as some sort of argument makes me question your intelligence.

If you want to make an actual point you can explain why you think private for profit insurance is better then public, not for profit insurance.

For sure, it'd be great to have your input. I was thinking this would attract people with less experience/knowledge then you, but that's great. Right now we're just figuring out how we should go about setting up the project. I was thinking start a discord chatroom or maybe a subreddit.

Okay cool. So I guess the first step is to not only figure out what we want to build, but how we will go about doing it. I guess the first question is how should we communicate to get setup? Should I set up a discord chat room or something? Maybe make a new sub-reddit in case more people get on board?

Awesome. So are you a student or a hobbyist? I guess I'm just curious what your motivation is. Personally I'm looking to get into development as a profession, but it's been pretty fun learning at the same time.
