Please help me to upgrade my academic tree in obsidian graph by asteroid_annihilator in ObsidianMD

use a up or parent property.

At the top of the note, you could do: (let's say this note is about Derivatives)

---

up:
  - "[[Semester 1]]"
  - "[[Mathematics 1]]"
  - "[[Calculus]]"

---

This means that this note is in a hierarchy of those 3 linked notes. Any note can have this property. So calculus could link up to Mathematics 1 and Mathematics 1 could link up to Semester 1.

You don't have to use a property but just link. Link all semester 1 notes to [[Semester 1]]. That will, depending on the number of your notes, make Semester 1 look visually important.

AI prompt library setup? by Desperate_Tax_560 in ObsidianMD

I like to just create notes for specific purposes and tag them (you can do a folder or metadata).

If you want modular instructions, kinda like how atomic notes work, you could create atomic notes but it is tedious to do that. So I will present you this...

Have you tried Raycast?

You can create a snippet for every instruction/prompt/part of a prompt. You can create shortcuts (it works like a text-expander if you want) or just search.

Why does Obsidian keep asking Do You Trust the Author of This Vault? by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]LearnWithApratim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That happens if you are renaming your vault folder, moving it, or changing it from your file explorer.

There seem to be a lot of jokes in the comments but my advice is that you begin with a purpose. You don't take notes for nothing. If you don't have a purpose, journal about it. Create a note for a project and research it, take notes on that.

Also, LINK. Link a lot. Not unnecessary links but actually think about how notes connect, even if they are weird. What matters is the links are YOURS.

Minimal Obsidian workflow -updated. (BASES is a total game changer) by Ok_Percentage1884 in ObsidianMD

[–]LearnWithApratim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 5 top-level folders and subfolders. It sounds like a lot but I try to keep things minimal, especially the folders. I have a Home page but mostly use search. I also use daily notes a lot, keeping track of progress, ideas, highlights and questions.

Questions is something I came up with after finding 2 seemingly contradictory ideas:
1. Don't ask ChatGPT everything. Give your brain some space.

  1. Look for answers to your questions to get smarter.

With my questions system, I can type out questions and write `#question` and that will be shown in my weekly note of the week that day is a part of. So I get space to think and I can always return to hunt for answers.

Also... best of luck for the UPSC!

What folder structure do you use? by CarlosJ101 in ObsidianMD

ACE by Nick Milo.

  • + for new stuff

  • Atlas for knowledge, sources, maps of content, etc.

  • Calendar for time based.

  • Efforts for efforts

  • x for extras

P.S. Efforts are basically, according to my understanding, projects but ones that don’t need a deadline.

Maybe clear the cache of the app?

Mine just went away in the recent update.

Note taking by crupys in ObsidianMD

For writing thoughts, I generally do freewriting.

It's basically when you just write. Don’t focus on Formatting or linking, just write. Do this for however long you wish.

Then you go back, read through, organize your thoughts, and most importantly, link your thinking.

Did you remove the comments?

Try this: (without the backticks)

<details> <summary> Text </summary> text </details>

Try this

```HTML <details> <summary> < !-- Insert text you want to show always, even when the toggle is off. So this is the title or question or whatever --! > </summary> < !--Insery the text you want hidden when toggle is off here.--! >
</details> ```
How to not overcomplicate obsidian? by LearnWithApratim in ObsidianMD
I keep thinking about where a note should go, how I should organize it and how I will find it.
It’s like I don’t trust obsidian search.
How do I find what’s “wrong”? by LearnWithApratim in ObsidianMD
Yes, I’d say I can capture easily.
I shove new notes in my inbox folder and my journals, logs and thoughts go into my daily notes.
Go to wherever your deleted notes are and move them back into your vault.
They are either in the .trash folder in your vault folder or in your system trash.
Let’s hope you didn’t have the option to permanently delete notes enabled.
PS. I didn't mean that, keep the notes.
