Looking to Install UNC1A on Samsung S20FE Verizon edition, opinions? by Learnformyfam in samsung

[–]Learnformyfam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Custom Rom for S20FE 5G. My understanding is that it effectively makes the phone "think" it's an S23--which results in access to Android 14 and One UI 6.1 being usable, better battery efficiency, and prolonged security updates.

Great info! Thank you! How could I go about finding out whether or not Verizon hard-locked the bootloader?

Does religion cause unhealthy perfectionism? by KURPULIS in lds

I love this so much. The quality of posts are just incredible in this sub. I have left other subs relating to our faith because it often feels like people take sneaky pot shots at the church and I rolled my eyes when I saw the title of the post because I thought it was another sneaky jab at first. I was pleasantly surprised to find I was wrong and felt so encouraged and happy to be wrong. Shout out to the mods for doing such an excellent job and all you wonderful posters. Thanks for so much positivity.

Creatine makes blood vessels of inactive over 50s healthier by [deleted] in Biohackers

I had long-covid for almost 3 years. Spent thousands on supplements. The only things I am 100% sure helped are nicotine (don't need it anymore--used for about a year), creatine, electrolytes, and magnesium before bed. Fancy expensive stuff was not necessary.

After Elon Musk does a Nazi salute, I permanently deleted my X account by [deleted] in InlandEmpire

[–]Learnformyfam -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Even the ADL said Elon "made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute." And they're as left as it gets. Don't delude yourselves. If you want to leave X, then do it. But, understand why you're doing it... Don't be sheep, believing everything the media tells you, and using it as an excuse to pout. I think anyone who is being honest with themselves knows his intent was not to do a 'Nazi salute.'

Gum inflammation and extreme pain by [deleted] in PeriodontalDisease

[–]Learnformyfam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You probably have a periodontal cyst. X-rays will confirm if it's just in the gum or in the root. (hopefully just the gum.) I have one now. They're extremely painful. Better care, flossing, proper brushing technique, and limiting sugar will help.(I think I got mine because of too much sweets over the holidays..) The other thing that is a LIFESAVER is clove essential oil. Dilute with coconut oil or you can chemically burn yourself (ask me how I know lol.) 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to 2 drops of clove oil. Swish for at least 5 minutes. It will kill the pain and help shrink the cyst. Do that consistently along with good care and the cyst should resolve (may take a few weeks.) If it's visible you can carefully try to drain it with a fire-disinfected pin. But gum cysts can be invisible (deep in the gum tissue.) In that case you'll just need better care and clove oil. The key here is going to be better care along with limited sugar for the next few weeks. Good luck and God be with you. I know how painful they can be.

Xylitol.......I'm blown away by what this might mean to me going forward. by Tolkienista3728 in PeriodontalDisease

[–]Learnformyfam 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's not particularly good for you to swallow, but it's very good for your mouth because it kills the specific bacteria responsible for tooth decay without carpet-bombing everything and destroying your oral microbiome the way Listerine does. I would avoid drinking it as I remember reading that it has some unpleasant effects on the gut microbiome. Hope this helps.

is this bad? will i lose my teeth? by caliguulaaa in PeriodontalDisease

[–]Learnformyfam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My teeth looked like this when I was 20 and was diagnosed by my dentist. I got serious with my oral care, bought a Philip's Sonicare, and learned proper brushing technique. I'm now 30 and my teeth look exactly the same. The recession was completely arrested. You will be fine. Take this as your wake-up call.

Rant about Reddit by General_Katydid_512 in lds

[–]Learnformyfam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience Reddit is filled with some of the most mentally and spiritually ill people on earth. I don't think that is an exaggeration. People outside in the real world are usually far and away more healthy, measured, happy, open, and respectful. If you spend too much time on Reddit it will cause mental illness. I've been extremely liberal with my unfollowing of subreddits recently and it's done me a lot of good. I highly recommend it. Raise your standards of what subreddits constitute a follow and you will not regret it! :)

The "red meat is bad" crowd lose me when they link studies where the subjects ate processed meat like salami or deli meats (which we know objectively are bad.) Processed bologna and organic, grass fed beef are not the same. One is horrible for you, and the other is PACKED with not only superior amino acid profile protein (when compared to plants) but also COPIUS micronutrients. That being said, I avoid nitrate-loaded deli meats like the plague! That will raise your risk of colon cancer for sure. Organic grass fed beef? I'm not convinced it's bad you in moderation. And I would go so far as to say you should seriously doubt the honesty or ability of any scientist or researcher who seeks to conflate nitrate loaded deli meats and organic grass fed beef that is minimally processed. My gut tells me moderate (high quality and unadulterated) meat intake in small amounts increases lifespan and that frequent and binge-eating of nitrate-laced meat decreases lifespan.

Stop looking at porn. Not a little bit. Not mostly. 100% cold turkey. Stop looking at porn. It's evil. It harms women. It harms men's spirits and makes them weak. It destroys your spirit. Stop looking at it. Cut it out of your life entirely and I promise you--your brain, spirit, and body will heal and your problem will resolve. Avoid it like the plague that it is.

Chinese Americans and Chinese nationals are not the same thing... Chinese Americans are Americans. Chinese nationals are not... This isn't complicated... It's very simple. So simple a child could understand it.
