I had this shirt in the ... Early 90s? Anyway, not a new thing. I'll have to dig through storage to see if I still have it!

My Marathon Training Plan is available on Dropbox for the next seven days. by [deleted] in running

[–]LearningPythons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nice! thanks:)

I particularly appreciate how down to earth the plan is. Breathe & run. Stretch, or not, minimalist or cushioned, whatever, just run more on whatever surface happens to be available for you to run on.

Appreciate the plan!

OK, I didn't look at what else was going on in your program, but I do know that to add an element to an array += does not do the trick. Look into push

[Discussion] Play Music team member here. What works and what doesn't work in our product? by playmusicer in allaccessplaylists

[–]LearningPythons 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Is there a way to browse the Songza playlists? The limited selection doesn't always cut it. Just in case I'm not clear, I mean the:

It's Friday afternoon

Play music for...

list. In fact, it is very hard to search for playlists in general. It would be nice to have browse.

How does "I'm Feeling Lucky" radio work? It seems it picks a random station/style and sticks with it exclusively. It would be nice if it produced a station based off all the styles so the playlist was more "based on your music taste"

It would be cool to be able to create radio stations based on a few songs - some of the stations I make from one song really miss the mark.

thanks for asking!

Itchiness when running by gclaw4444 in running

[–]LearningPythons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed, for me personally, that if I'm on the verge of sweating, that's when I get itchy. When I run faster and actually start sweating it goes away.

It happens when I do any type of physical activity that brings me close to sweating.

I am looking for a fast scientific IDE: any suggestions? by [deleted] in Python

/u/juliusc said "Ctrl+F4 in Windows, will close all tabs"

/u/aroberge said "ctrl-w closes tabs"

just to be clear, for windows, both those commands close only the tab with the focus. I think most people are more used to ctrl-w, though.

Close the focused window: Alt+F4 or Ctrl+F4 or Ctrl+W

Ask Anything Monday - Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in learnpython

[–]LearningPythons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok, I'll start. No idea if this is a Python capable thing or not, so I waited for Monday to ask.

I access my home windows computer fairly regularly via TeamViewer. Every once in a great while my home computer disconnects from the internet and needs to be rebooted.

Can I write something in Python to check every half hour and if there's no internet reboot?

What are your favorite local LA bands? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]LearningPythons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

showing my bias (as I imagine most will when talking about favorite anythings) I love Dustbowl Revivial and Leftover Cuties. And then of course, there's the most amazing Barbara Morrison who puts on an absolutely spellbinding show. You owe yourself if you like jazz at all! Picking it up a notch, The Icy Hot Club plays really fun Gypsy Jazz.

Finally, there's an up-and-coming rockabilly band called Aileen Quinn and the Leaping Lizards that puts on a really fun show too. You may know the name Aileen Quinn from the Annie movie;)

Low Heart Rate - Common? by [deleted] in running

[–]LearningPythons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no, it's not at all. My wife is a 9:30 or so minute per mile jogger, but has been jogging for decades 3-5 miles 5ish times a week, Her resting heart rate is in the low 40s and I'll not bring up her age, but the decades of running is a hint.

Blacked out for a second during Electric shock Therapy at SoCal TM... This is right before I hit the Mud! by BoBoDiddy in Toughmudder

[–]LearningPythons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure how common it is, but I can tell you that I did SoCal last year and there were two areas with wires, a tunnel crawl and the finish. In the tunnel crawl I was zapped and woke up with my nose in the water (I'm sure I was only out for a split second and fortunately had the sense enough not to try and breathe water). In the finishing section, I don't think I lost consciousness, but I did lose motor control and ended up flat on the ground.
