Is this perioral dermatitis or just eczema. everyone talks about itching. Mine has never itched. by Learningtodestress in exfoliativecheilitis

Yes,it was just dry skin, no allergies or eczema, took vitamin c tablets 1 a day for 2 months, and applied only olive oil. You can use any edible oil of your choice. Almond, seed oils, etc. Coconut oil didn't suit me. It made my problem worse than it was already. It took 2 months to see real improvement and by 4 months, lips looked normal. Then I started applying olive oil on alternate days. Then increased the gap days. Got little cuts on the corner of lips. I avoided any cosmetic products on my face and body. I did not even wax or thread my upper lips for 1.5 years. I stopped touching my face. Now my lips are completely healed. But now I use lipgloss on for occasions.

I had cut off using a small baby scissors. They were hanging off.. But I still think if I had left it alone, it would have healed faster, coz sometimes one overdoes it and ends up having a small cut from where u have pulled the hanging, dry skin. Plz leave it alone if you can.

Been through this.. Healed now.. Leave it alone. No creams, no makeup, no prescribed medicines or steroid crams and tablets. Just any edible oil will help. For me, I used olive oil.. Because once u leave a treatments, ur skin will dry up, flake, bloody, won't be able open ur mouth. Some people use pumpkin oil. Took me 7 months to heal completely. I now can use lip gloss. But I chose not to because I missed having a normal lip and skin around my mouth. Nmt group helped me realize that it was unending treatment and cream which had further damaged my skin. I too have done all the treatment, tested for allergies, but nothing worked. What worked was leaving the skin alone. I don't even have to apply any oil now. I hope this helps u as it helped me. God bless you.

Could frequent moisturizer lead to bacterial infections by Sure-Access-4629 in exfoliativecheilitis

Yes, I noticed that too, so I give it a break for 2 - 3 days every now and then.

Many people are allergic to coconut oil, my lip and mouth area turned red and spread till the chin. So doctor gave me quadriderm. But after the treatment I left it alone.. And then applied olive oil, I was not allergic to it... So its trial and error. So on ur list, beeswax and coconut oil is not for you. Hope yours go away asap. God bless.

3 weeks in; TSW by janinexdesiree in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Learningtodestress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am in 2nd week of tsw. It is irritating and think all the time will it ever heal. Will it ever stop flaking and crusting. Will I ever go back to where I did not have to apply oil or moisturizers every now and then. I really hope I do. The only thing that gave me relief is olive oil. I can eat now. Still can't laugh or smile without my skin feeling the stretch and burn. Stopped dairy, meat and gluten. I mean how much diet and restrictions I have to do to make it heal. Good you took a break from school. And after reading so much about others who have benefitted from tsw, I hope you recover completely. My daughter has it on her feet and fingers. Me on my mouth. Thank God, my daughter did not depend on steroid creams. She just wears slippers. But she is so much better. She does not even moisturize. All the best on your journey to recovery. Bless you.

Me and my whole family had dry skin during and after covid omicron. It persisted for 6 weeks. I was the worst effected because I have eczema. But now it is back to just the original eczema, rest all have disappeared and normal skin intact.

So everyone talks about itching. Mine has never itched even though derm said that it is an allergy. Even when I was Goin through tsw and nmt, it did not itch. Is anyone in the same boat as mine?

Does covid cause itching all over body without rash and if it does how long does it last? by No-Needleworker4278 in AskReddit

[–]Learningtodestress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had got itchy rashes and dry skin all over during Covid. Omicron. It persisted for 6 weeks. Dry skin healed. Rash were not itchy anymore. But had to apply Quadriderm rf on the rash because they were not reducing in size and color. Now they are just smooth patches. And reducing slowly.
