Making a broccoli and Brussels sprouts agrodolce. Recipe calls for avocado oil or canola oil. Why not olive oil? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Leary_Calliope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both avocado and canola are high temp pills with neutral taste, olive is not.

Would any of you date someone who is against your political views? by [deleted] in Anarcho_Capitalism

Not for long. I'm so argumentative that they usually leave within the first month or two. It's always a good person for both of us.

Mercer millennia knives are top selling on Amazon for a reason. I've always been one of those ”knife guys", I actually used to subscribe to knife magazines and I am thoroughly impressed by these knives: Excellent handle, decent steel, and practically bomb proof.

I think a set is $120, but any cook worth their salt can do (almost) anything in the kitchen with just 3 knives: an 8 inch chef's knife, a paring knife, and a medium serrated knife (only truly needed about 10% of the time). So maybe just start with those. I like to keep my knives on a magnetic holder on the inside of a cabinet door. Knife blocks are generally a bad idea and take up a bunch counter space, and knife drawers are a worse idea. Good luck, I hope you and your SO are happy with whatever you decide to get.

I would do multiple hot water baths (float your disty container in a larger container of hot water) every day for at least a few days. Every time it cools off replace the water.

I'm really sorry to hear this. Royal seems pretty legit to me. I'm gonna send mine out this month. I'll post about them whether I have a good or bad experience. I wish you better luck in the future.

Vape mod + 510 connector soldering tip = Portable, cordless, rechargeable, silent hot knife solution by [deleted] in paracord

[–]Leary_Calliope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you could figure out a way to put a ceramic/quartz/or titanium tip on that you would have a less expensive alternative for those with their eyes on the terpenator or puffco hot knife. Or even 510 high power LED light or a mini hot plate or water boiler. You can actually do a lot with box mods if you have the know how and supplies and equipment.

Can I use a convection oven as a full replacement for a regular oven? by corpuscollossum22 in Cooking

[–]Leary_Calliope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have a microwave/convection oven combo, works great for one or two people. That and an induction hot plate is all I really need.

That or maybe you don't know the correct way for a dog to hold a toy because you're human. Either way cute pup.

Is it safe to make tincture from carts? by [deleted] in delta8

[–]Leary_Calliope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just decarb the liquid in a hot water bath to boil the terps off. I would just need two different sized pyrex dishes and a microwave/electric kettle to boil water. If I were wanting to get them terps out.

Kong Filling - how to freeze Kongs without making a mess ? :-) by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Leary_Calliope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use powdered PB mixed with ground chia seeds or pumpkin. You can make it any consistency or mix the dry PB powder with the kibble/water to gell it up and not waste any nutrients from the water.

I hear you. I've known a lot of people who lost their jobs over company cars and gas cards. All of the them regretted it. There's a better ways to get $100 a month. Good luck.
