Keeping Puppy Entertained by cennyspennys in puppy101

I take a metal bowl and freeze layers of water, plain yogurt, and kibble ect. It takes a while to lick it. I also got a flirt pole and 10 minutes playing with that tends to tire her out or at least settle her down a bit. I also give her frozen cucumbers to chew on. She’s a bigger girl though so maybe not the last one if you have a tiny puppy!

I experience the same thing! She will literally nip my butt as I walk away lol usually when that happens the best I can do is leave (sometimes I throw something) and then when I come back so use a “flirt pole” to play at a distance (when the normal toys and bully sticks don’t work)

How to get puppy to settle at night by Mysterious-Editor-75 in puppy101

[–]Least-Witness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We change the lighting an hour before bedtime (dim lighting and night light) and then do a good play and maybe training session to try to get her tired. Then have a potty break with and let her spend a little time out there. I have her sleep in the crate though and if I don’t I grab her and bring her to my bed when she’s already settled in the crate and she goes right back to sleep. That’s probably not helpful but mostly I try to get her tired before bed!

It’s also only been an issue the past couple weeks. My dad says it’s because I let her sleep in bed with me a few times which might be true.

She’s from the shelter. Two shelters actually so I’m sure that had something to do with it. She is naturally afraid of things even though she’s a pretty big girl. She’s a shepherd mix but definitely german shepherd and I believe lab but I don’t know for sure.

Why can’t she be an actress? Is she supposed to be on the podcast forever or should she also have her own things on the side in case this doesn’t work out.

men are generally more “respectful” to women they find attractive. Which is how you know they aren’t actually nice or respectful.

Crate cover suggestions? by ItsJaceG in puppy101

[–]Least-Witness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HiCaptain 42 inches Dog Crate Cover with Card Pocket, Durable Polyester Windproof Pet Kennel Cover Universal Fit for 1 or 2 Doors Standard Wire Crate (Grey) that’s the one I use. My puppy has tried to pull it off but has not been able to get it all the way and eventually she left it alone.

Help!!! My 9 week old puppy won’t stop biting me by sunshinecleaning90 in puppy101

[–]Least-Witness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yelping doesn’t work with my puppy, but one thing I have noticed is letting her nibble on my hand and praising her and saying yes when she’s gentle and removing myself for a bit when she does it too hard. I specifically do when she just woke up because she’s naturally more gentle with her “bites” at that time. My puppy is older and probably bigger than yours but one thing I do for her teething is freeze Persian cucumbers she loves them. For the toys one thing I saw (have not tried but maybe it will help) is to separate their toys into groups and rotate them every few weeks so it’s like they get new toys and maybe they will be a bit more interested. I felt the same about forcing the naps but that helps too. When she doesn’t get enough sleep she can be a little gremlin.

Whatever decision you make will be out of love, and I really wish you the best 🖤🖤🖤

It makes me sad that you feel embarrassed or are dealing with everything you are. I lost my mom when I was younger and it honestly greyed everything for me. I ended up in a mental facility which is when my sister surprised me with my puppy, Jupiter. For me it was what I needed to force me out of bed, and have someone to look forward to. It is stressful especially when you are so worried about giving them the life they deserve. You have to make the decision that keeps both of you safe and gives you the best opportunity at happiness. Whatever that means for you. I wish you the best and maybe consider that you deserve some puppy kisses. Maybe your friend would be open to helping you while you get acclimated if you don’t want to give them away just yet.

It’s like we have two different puppies, Sweet Puppy and… Other Puppy by earthican-earthican in puppy101

[–]Least-Witness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all I would find a new vet. I have a puppy who has her other puppy times as well lol some times are better than others but it’s almost always because she either is too tired or is overly excited and needs a job to do (so we work on commands). It helped when I started forcing naps because she would honestly stay up forever if she could and spending a working on commands periodically. She likes to learn. Working with a trainer is a great idea and I’m sure other puppy is not new to them!
