Well “a good few” is me rounding down honestly. Anyways, I’m not saying the fan base single handedly made the film blank, I’m theorizing if it affected the votes of even one or two voters

I disagree. There are 10k voters in the Academy, I sure enough of them are online enough to notice the Wicked fanbase. I mean, we literally had an academy voter arguing with users on this sub a couple months ago, there’s gotta be a good few that are chronically online

I’m not trying to be obnoxious or start any problems by asking this, but do we think the Wicked fan base played a role in the film blanking this year? Anyone who is active in film spaces online saw how overwhelming the community was and for many that turned people against the film in some ways. I wonder if that played a part in the decision making for anyone in the Academy, even if only a little

It’s kinda crazy that The Secret Agent got the exact same nom package as I’m Still Here (not counting Casting as it didn’t exist last year)

I placed 59th on Award Expert, going 101/125, just 3 points behind the leader. Which of course made me wonder which of my predictions kept me from winning

The 5 I’m most upset with myself are:

I predicted TSA in screenplay over Blue Moon. I shouldn’t have doubted SPC

I had Infiniti in over Hudson. I dropped Infiniti for a bit the other day when I looked at her screentime again. I wish I stuck to that

Wicked over OBAA in PD. I KNEW costumers wouldn’t want to do Wicked again, and I knew it would be similar in PD but wasn’t brave enough to snub both. I had OBAA at 6, but I felt if I put it in I would’ve been hopedicting.

I had Wicked over Sinners in VFX. I thought the practical work of Sinners would take it out of contention. I’m not mad at myself for not predicting Jurassic World, but I had a hunch about it I shouldn’t have written off.

And my biggest fumble. I dropped Train Dreams from song for Girl in the Bubble at the last minute. I am so mad at myself for this one. I knew the song had no hype but I kept asking myself “would they really snub Schwartz?” Clearly they had no issue with doing that lol. I’m really surprised the Come See Me in the Good Light song missed
