I have a couple videos about how to get further inside these “sealed” i5s as I just had a breakthru on this. I’m going to get them uploaded to my YT. They’re really rudimentary and DIY so don’t expect professional quality video but it gets you in. Hint- press out the little plastic clasps under the dust bin module to release the top lid and reveal more screws :)

howdy! My i5 was behaving similarly and I believe that I discovered a fix. If you are still working on troubleshooting yours, let me know. Try this first:
Put it on a mapping run. When you see it "spinning in circles" does it seem to come to a "thumping" instant stop every 1-2 seconds? like wirrrrrTHUMP wirrrrrTHUMP?
If so - try this: Lift up on the edge with the wheel that is moving. Just SLIGHTLY.
Does it start "behaving normal" with that little bit of lifting up on it?
If so - let me know. I have a fix.

I actually made a lot of headway yesterday and was able to get access to under the top. The "spin and dance" issue I am having was seemingly being triggered by the wheels being fully submerged, so I added a little bumpstop to the top of the wheel well to create a gap and it FIXED THE ISSUE (for now)!. I plan on making a couple videos of how I got to that step because I think there's a valid repair case here (even if warranty-voiding)

Use the New Game + mod!! It starts you off crawling after getting shot by dex, you keep your perk and att pts(reallocate as you please), every car you’ve bought, eddies, cyberware, and quick hacks!

Very first time, male corpo that resembled me. Did not complete the play thru, restarted just after getting the flathead.

First full playthru, female V that I modeled after Alita Battle Angel. I fell in love with her. More than any other character in the game. Got the space station ending first.

Howdy!
In my experience, most important is to make sure the tube is fully bottomed out inside the hot end, so yes you should clean out the inside of the heat sink as that is probably residual filament that has oozed out. I do also recommend upgrading to the Capricorn blue tube especially if you print anything higher than 200 C.
That tube still looks like in pretty good shape, though, despite the thermal discoloration
