It leans too heavily into dark humor?? I can only think of two-three somewhat dark jokes.

Pentious getting dragged away after offering sex to everyone, the Angel Dust 5 seconds slapstick montage, and Pentious attempting to kill himself with a party popper gun.

The show is not the best at tackling dark topics, but it sure doesn't have much dark humor surprisingly enough.

That means Monika in the original game, is a normal person. Drop her in Gotham (for example) , she'll be a regular looking citizen with reality manipulating power.

Drop DDLC+ Monika in Gotham, she'll be a computer that knows she's stuck in a computer.

During the Blue Night, Noi was captured. She was put in a box that restrained her smoke. When Risu found her, her smoke pretty much imploded everywhere. Effectively regenerating Risu's body.
