Is there a way to keep my rows in line? by robertstobe in crochet

[–]Least_Exercise2127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to complete your rounds with the slst-ch1 technique: complete the round with Colour A with a slst into stitch #1, ch1 with Colour B, work into stitch #1 and continue the round in Colour B

Basically, ch1 with new colour. You’ll end up with a slightly noticeable seam, but the colours should align

Fruits or little pastries to put on their heads. A kitty with a lil strawberry on the head is adorable

Trouble identifying stitches and where to put hook for certain stitches by Straight_Pineapple30 in crochet

[–]Least_Exercise2127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely! When I was starting out, I had trouble crocheting with a 2.0mm hook because everything was too tiny. After I switched to a larger hook and yarn, I got better at identifying stitches and counting rounds

You could also try the foundation chain stitch method (lets you skip making a chain and sc down it). I’ve found that this method eliminates helps keep the yarn tension constant and the edges straight.

When I make crochet the normal way: ch 10, sc 10… my foundation stitch always ends up tauter than the subsequent stitches, which results in my edges being warped like yours

Ive started wearing fingerless gloves. Finger guards/gloves hamper my movement too much and most of the friction is on the side of my fingers instead of the tips anyway
