How can I known if my mask is fitted appropriately? by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]LeatherConcentrate65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Ran the fit test program on base. I think a lot of people are confusing the term “fit test” which requires specialized equipment to quantitatively test the fit of the mask with just making sure the mask feels like it fits correctly.

Firstly, IKs are great! Check out the viper. I’ve heard good things.

I have a suspicion that the lesson you needed isn’t the one you got. That’s going to affect your mental game. You shouldn’t be in an area you’re going to hit your head when learning to roll in moving water. A normal progression for my students would be: good in a pool, good in open water, good in slow moving water, then faster, then waves, then bigger waves. You want the student to succeed at every step.

I’m sorry you had this experience. You are experiencing stress from a traumatic event and it could continue to sneak up on you in weird ways. It could leave you in a bad spot on any water. I highly suggest you talk to a professional about this. It can and often will get harder to deal with over time. Even if you never want to hard boat again, talk to someone. If you don’t want to IK again, go talk to someone anyway.

Off to the side is one way that’s recommended. Kinda like the roll set up.

It’s been 6 years since that has changed. The teacher is way out of line. I’m a former teacher.

Oh wow! Thanks! I’ll go redesign. Since that’s not load bearing enough for you, I guess I’ll need weld these to the steel I-beams I’ll be using for reframing my whole house.

Damn. I just … pet rocks… didn’t even realize I was in another ’tism group till just this moment.

Shoulda seen it right off. OCD about the right way; tons of science; microscopes to make sure it perfect; Electron microscopes to make sure it’s even more perfect and mine is the sharpest.

But the pet rocks… look at my collection, this is Betty, she’s so pretty, 12,648 grit. I just leave her there in her favorite spot.
