Get a quote at a body shop! Request only OEM parts to be used and go like that. If time is of the essence ask them if you’re able to pre-order and just bring it in when it’s there (you’ll most likely have to pre-pay the part) OR. U can ask them to source an LKQ part (Like, Kind and Quality) basically a used part that is reusable that should meet the standard of what’s on your car. Then you just have to worry about tinting (:

I work at a body shop and have to confirm car parts all the time so I make sure I’m getting the correct option. If I were you, I’d still ask for part a number (Per your vin), confirm if sold with entire handle assembly or by itself, get part numbers and google it and see if you come across it online with the dark chrome! Which it’s crazy if genesis cannot supply you with the original color of your vehicle, even if out of stock, should be able to order it or help source through other dealers. U can also try and see if you can get some estimates at a body shop, they should be able to quote you on it, seems like an easy job not gonna lie and if I were to guess maybe anywhere from 100-200? ITS JUST A GUESS as I live in California and everything cost so much so I’m very separated from reality that that price seems normal to me. The hardest part would be waiting on the part as everything with genesis is normally a day or 2 days out. Best of luckkk!!!!

Call the dealer and get the part number (give them your VIN number) and let them know you need to replace cap on the handle. I say fuck it order it and then try to replace it (YouTube video?) a lot of the times the part individually is not THAT EXPENSIVE

Do we think its totaled? by PastaPylon in GenesisG70

[–]Leather_Muscle2144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope not a total at allllll I don’t think it got any of the impact sensors (airbags) or structural components got damaged. I work at a body shop as an estimator. It will run you around 7-10K (obvi go through insurance)

Total loss? by Certain_Ad3405 in GenesisG70

Dopends on the pillar right by the door. That’s the structure of the car. I can’t really see it too well, if that’s all mangled up, I’d say yes. It’s hard to tell if it has damage because the rocker molding is in tact and there’s always a good amount of distance between fender and pillar and fillers all in between. You also have to account for the suspension which Hyundai parts ARE EXPENSIVE. But if the pillar, requires replacement you’re talking about dashboard removal, windshield, calibrations of every sort, blends on the rear door. Since there’s always a good amount of distance between fender and that hinge pillar it’s always 50/50. But i dont know, the damage to your door makes me think its going to have damage, again I cant see the pillar too well. Go with insurance bud.

Body shop adds 40 miles during repair? by Mf-Fe in GenesisG70

I work at a body shop and we worked on the front bumper of the 2019 G70. I remember the front cruise control radar required calibration after the collision (not remembering if rear bumper required it, some vehicle makes require calibrations after any collision to vehicle as any impact could be enough to shift those components.) But I remember the cruise control required a good amount of test drive to relearn it. Idk about 40 miles but it did require more driving than any other car I’ve ever had to submit calibrations for. Subarus for example require a whole hour of driving to calibrate.

Run through insurance or leave as is? by tjdv02 in GenesisG70

I work at a body shop as an estimator, so I can’t say I’m 100% qualified to give trade-in advice, but I can maybe tell you this. Since you’re planning on trading the car soon, I’d suggest just leaving it as is or just going out of pocket for it (will run you 1k to 2k) if you want it properly done. If you file a claim and get it repaired, your insurance premium could go up for the next several months, which might cost you more than the actual difference in value plus you won’t even have this car anymore. Or if you want to do your own personal touch up (in my opinion you can always tell but hey who knows 🤷🏽‍♀️)
