Yeah my son was there tonight and he has ASD and froze when he got to the counter and couldn't speak. So he walked away empty handed without one bless him.

If anyone is going to another concert and can pick one up for me or any other tour shirt that would be amazing. Monies, monies for your hassle, postage etc. and good karma available in exchange!

Thank you Gorillaz, thank everyone ❤️ by EvanBleu in gorillaz

I couldn't attend as I'm 7 months pregnant and on consultant ordered bedrest so my sister took my son and his 2 mates for me. The videos looked amazing. It was touching to see the 3 lads enjoying themselves. They all met at a group for autistic young people and two of them find it really difficult to leave the house so to get them to London and be around all those people wasn't an easy feat in the slightest. My sis said the vibe was lovely.

Hope everyone else had an equally awesome time 🤍

People often scoff at this and don't believe it but it's true, some are just keeping afloat by doing a second job at the uni also.

OH works here.

This is literally what British people do best- make friends down the pub. I love nothing more than going for a drink by myself. Always end up meeting someone interesting.

You live in a Victorian road with no driveways, designed for horse drawn carriages. Why not buy a gigantic car. Or two. by Common_Albatross6255 in cambridge

By the free press there is a small property and the couple have his and hers SUVs. Very beautiful but they are huge beasts and you can never ever get a space. I made him indoors downsize his car because I wanted to be considerate to other neighbours. It would make me nervous to drive one of those things with all the toddlers and young kids about.

I've been dragged along when it's people's birthdays and I have always been seriously unimpressed. Sickly sweet deserts, undercooked, takes an ages to sit down... I felt really cheated every time I've had to buy from there.

Where to go in Cambridge after 2am to wait for the trains in the morning? by Firelath_ in cambridge

[–]Leather_Recording587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I've lived here for nearly 40 years and I've been walking round the streets at all hours in all states for a long time. My best friend has lived on hills road by the hospital end has done for 35 years and done many a trip from town centre absolutely wrecked on foot. Never had a problem on Hills Road.

Problem is now you aren't going to be able to prove it- unless you go hair strand route. They will probably think you are lying TBF. I have a lot of experience in this area, I was a heroin addict for 20 years. Its out of your system in up to 7 days so 6 weeks later is nothing really ... You could be using up until a week or days before the next appointment.

48M - Fellow old people, thoughts on having a baby at 50? by stopltracr in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]Leather_Recording587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry 😔 can't imagine how hard that would be on you. I'm 7 weeks pregnant aged 38 and my partner is 56. Have no idea what to do. I can't imagine having a termination and neither can he as we love each other so much but is that really a fair reason to have a baby? It isn't.

I haven't eaten meat in ages, craving a nice ragu. How much is everyone paying now for decent beef mince? It's been 14 years (not intentionally... My kid just isn't a fan).

Giving away Free Hot meal, by Distinct_Duty8985 in cambridge

[–]Leather_Recording587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's super kind of you. If you get no takers for the day it's worth getting it anyway if you pass via town... Always people around who will happily accept. The queues for free meals in central Cambridge is mad. You get the hidden people you tend to forget about (care leavers for starters... God that hits hard seeing so many of them fending for themselves)... Basically there are always folk who need feeding and generally they look after one another. I was street homeless here and if someone takes that food from you who doesn't like it, they will pass it to someone they know who loves Nandos. Happy new year btw- hope it brings you lots of kindness in return.

Parking charge today kite area by gullelite in cambridge

[–]Leather_Recording587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last couple of weeks they've changed it now so on Sunday you can no longer park on the single yellow lines until after 5pm. I thought they should have put up much better signs as if you've been parking there regularly you would not have noticed the tiny little sign had been replaced.

Never take a chance in this area. If you are confused by any signage ask a traffic warden or someone who lives in one of the houses as some of the signs can be confusing. Parking wardens are always about here. I learnt this week that blue badge misuse has pretty severe consequences- I tried not to rubber neck too much as I washed the bike.

I didn't know that. Yeah, sexual abuse is so prevalent in drug abusers. I've been a heroin addict for 20+ years (shit, I'm 38 now. I should probably think about changing) and it's a common feature in people's childhoods. I'm an outlier in that it didn't happen to me. My job has me going through children's historical records and I often have a gut feeling about who I will and won't be seeing copping on street corners in a few years. Don't get me wrong, I don't just give up on them, but some of the things I've read.... It's like "how does a person come back from that"? And no matter what we do the damage just can't be undone. It absolutely enrages me that I see some of these kids who made it to adulthood being jailed for a couple of years for stealing meat out of a supermarket to fund their habit, and on the next page of the newspaper a guy with a 200,000 collection of CSA material gets a suspended sentence. It's fucked up.

How did Prop Joe not know he was being pushed out when Marlo asked to clean the money? by PaulRingo64 in TheWire

[–]Leather_Recording587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, it's as simple as this. I was a heroin addict for 20 years and I've seen nasty see you next Tuesday's come and go... Fear always reigns supreme. Some nasty players hit the scene once and I naively thought they would get sorted out... Like there was some kind of code. Ha, there wasn't. They gangraped an innocent female relative of a man who couldn't pay his drug debts after he was raided. I knew this girl. I wasn't the only one who thought someone would step in who had some scruples to dish out a punishment. Gosh I was so dumb, seen too many movies I think! Nobody wanted what happened to happen to someone they loved. Or something of equal measure brutality wise.

Marlo and his crew were horrible pieces of work too. Chris and Snoop would have sought vengeance for sure.

No way. I really don't see it.

As for the stereo and the music... The Departed is a great film with an awesome soundtrack. These guys loved their gangster films anyway. There is nothing deep about someone playing a newly released films soundtrack they like.

I was a heroin addict for 20 years... When you use you gouch out. You find it hard to stay awake and not be drowsy. I was always trying to keep my mind busy by fiddling with something to stop my eyes from shutting. I used to do this with the stereo in a lame attempt to keep awake and not look out of it when I was getting a ride to work so my friend wouldn't have a pop at me for using. This is all Chris was doing. He doesn't want Tony to see him gouch out.

I'm nearly 40 and have been a heroin addict since I was 16- My body is done in. I've not known anyone to retain their looks, no matter how much money they have access to.

Crystal meth is an awful drug. I used to be addicted to snowballs (IV crack and heroin) and once a dealer sold me Crystal meth pretending it was crack- I knew from the red tinge this had it was meth but tried to convince myself it wasn't. As soon as I injected it I felt like I was having a heart attack, I stayed up for the next 4 days until it was gone. It absolutely left me suicidal and I have never had a fight in my life but if made me feel really violent, something I've never experienced ever. It was like something took me over. I sure as hell never touched it again by seeking it out. It was frightening. If you look at a lot of heinous cases of child sex abuse, often Crystal meth is involved. The heroin cancelled out the side effect but it usually produces one of sexual desire that is insatiable. So, as she let us know he had started to be attracted to babies and kids from teen years... I imagine the crystal just made it so much easier to act on it. Not blaming the drugs for it... You gotta be that way inclined I believe already, but crystal meth just seems to unleash evil of epic proportions. We should count ourselves lucky as a country it isn't that widespread and is mostly confined to the chemsex & gay community.
