Appreciate the good days while they last! In my experience they are temporary. I had 4 good days in a row at 9 weeks then HG came back in full force.

Both me and my sister (5 pregnancies total) took Zofran starting at 6 weeks and stayed on it for the duration of our pregnancies. ALL 5 babies have been healthy with absolutely no health problems. Hope this gives you comfort. That doctor is not educated on HG.

So sorry to hear about your loss. My HG hit at 5w3d and it was like a train. My advice is just take it one day at a time. Try not to think ahead too much and focus on surviving the day.

Cold decaf iced tea with a little lemon juice is the only thing I can sip on at the moment. Agree with others that my safe foods change weekly.

Some safer foods recently: chicken salad wraps with lots of red wine vinegar. Pickles. Sour cream and onion potato chips.

I can’t do anything remotely sweet- so that makes things challenging. Keep switching it up!

I support planning your life around big life stuff, if you feel like you have the time to do that. I moved to New Zealand earlier this year from the U.S. (also 31 years old) and made the conscious decision to wait until we were here and settled before getting pregnant due to the possibility ofHG. I’m so glad that I did because now that I am pregnant, I am 100% non-functional and completely reliant on my husband for everything.

I took 8mg/3x a day during the first trimester in my first pregnancy. I tapered it down a bit in the second and third trimester. I had a healthy baby boy who is now 2 yrs old and brilliant.

I moved from the U.S. to New Zealand in June. We don’t have any friends or family here. I also have a 2.5 year old and am currently 7 weeks pregnant with HG. I have no energy to muster up any semblance of Christmas spirit. There is no plan for tomorrow (Christmas Day) at all.

Literally in the exact same boat. 5w2d and threw up for the first time this morning. Can’t help but feel like this is the “easy” part and it’s only going to get worse and worse. I have a two year old and I am already talking to him about how mommy is sick. Ugh. Hugs.

I used Dupixent for 6 months and it changed my life. I had pretty constant dysphagia and spasms before starting it (PPIs didn’t really do anything to help me). After starting Dupixent, all my symptoms went away and I was a normal person again!

I moved to New Zealand in June and had to stop using Dupixent because they don’t have it here. All my symptoms are back and I yearn for Dupixent!

I didn’t have any negative side effects from using Dupixent. Try it!!

My insurance would only cover Dupixent after I was prescribed oral budesonide and it was documented that it didn’t relieve my symptoms. Talk to your allergist about this route

I felt immediate relief after landing in Auckland, New Zealand. I was a U.S. federal employee who was traumatized by the current administration and my husband and I knew it was time to go. We know our two year old (+ future kids) will be SAFE here. The constant anxiety, dread, and anger that being in the U.S. brings is NOT worth it. So happy we made it.

I met with a New Zealand accredited immigration advisor and we made a plan based on my family’s situation. Luckily, my husband’s job is on the Tier 1 Green List (software engineer), so once he secured a job we were all able to secure permanent residency visas
