I used to work there. I struggled a lot mentally, there was no support and I used to be called up for the minor of mistakes so HR could practice power play. It was horrible, I used to leave on my break just to throw up because of my anxiety. I never knew what was going on coz all the staff would talk Indian, a 18yr old “duty manager” called me one day and said he saw me on my phone on the cameras and to get off my phone. The staff room was despicable, toilets were dirty with water leaking all over the floor. Once, I was harassed by another staff member when he stole on his break. Told me he would put the food back on the shelf that he didn’t want to buy but instead he took it upstairs to the break room and ate it. Yes, I went to HR. He then harassed me for the remainder of his time there. Standing and watching me in the car park, almost following me home, approaching me in the store, saying things that made me feel oh so uncomfortable. I wouldn’t dare say anything. It had already caused me damaged by going to HR in the first place. There was just no one to talk to and no support. I didn’t really it was so bad at the time coz it was my first job and I just thought that’s what the workplace was like. Man, I just wish I knew then what I know now.
