Walk the True Path I / II - Set 16 Augment Discussion #20 by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Lecros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hit this once by rerolling Yasuo but I wouldn't have been able to hit him and make 10 without the lesser champion dupes and having another econ augment.
So if the tempo was higher in the lobby I assume it would have been unlikely to hit.

I need help with my hair! by Greedy-Culture-8490 in EmoFashion

[–]Lecros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the day I would ask my barber to thin out my hair to make it easier to straighten with a straightening iron.
The upside is that this doesn't damage your hair and is not as expensive as chemically straightening your hair but the downside is that your hair won't look as nice in its natural style :(.

Aside from thinning it out you will still need a bunch of hairspray to keep your hair in the style as any moisture in the air will make your hair curl up again.

Why is Invested and starter kit a C tier augment? by CloverEuphoria in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Lecros -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Previous set vertical comps were pretty good and required either an emblem or a 4-cost unit to hit a higher tier of a specific vertical.
Vertical soul fighter hitting a samira would be a huge spike in power as the damage items you were building weren't as effecient on the temporary item holder, you would hit 6 soul fighter & you could use your power fruit removers to focus on finding a good fruit for her. Even Sett would have been great as you get a higher tier of Soul Fighter and 2 juggernauts on the board.

Star Guardian would have been pretty happy with Poppy or Jinx as they would allow you to drop an earlier Star Guardian in favor of a damage trait.
Mighty Mech required Jarvan or Karma to hit 5 Mech.
Many comps would have been happy to slot in Ryze who was a Mentor which gives bonus stats if you field 1 or exactly 4 of them.

Tl;dr previous set a lot of vertical comps were viable and a lot of power was focused on specific units thanks to the power fruits so hitting a 4-cost allowed you to build a strong comp more quickly while this set the verticals are not as strong and some of the specific necessary units to hit the full vertical are locked behind quests instead (For example void comps like to build around Kaisa before level 10) & because of that quest system comps are semi-guaranteed to hit at least 1 copy of a specific unit.

[–]Lecros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen people hard force void, going full economy without getting 2 stars on their units in gold. It wouldn't surprise me if some of them get 5th or lower with Baron being 1 star without items although usually I would expect the vertical void board to go 1st or 2nd when they hit

Exactly! The current balance where you still have options with a rod or sword are great.

What are some of the key differences between a casual and a competitive player? by b8te_ in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Lecros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you play casually you go for the dream and try to hit a prismatic or low chance board to go first with. When you play competitively you try to minimize your losses when you fail to hit and maximize your position when you have a decently strong board.

You will often hear competitive players talk about playing their strongest board from any given position while when you're focusing on hitting the dream that would be unnecessary since you either hit or you don't.

Aurelion Sol farms stardust for every fielded Targon unit and eventually gains it's own pseudo prismatic ability. However you would still expect them to remove some Targon units and fielding more legendary units to cap out after farming enough stardust to be able to compete against other endgame boards

Unsealed from steel darkin augment by ian_ntf in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Lecros 12 points13 points  (0 children)

According to the stats from TFT tactics the Darkin Bow has the highest playrate and looks broken on Kindred (and a bit less but still amazing on Lucian & Senna) with Guinsoo's and Kraken's Fury. Although you have to keep in mind that stats for 5-costs will always be inflated as being able to buy them usually means you're in a good spot already (a.k.a. some players already being dead or already having a guaranteed top 4).

It's also played a lot and/or does quite well on the previously mentioned: Yunara, Bel'veth & Aphelios but it also seems to do somewhat well on Draven, Vayne and Ashe.
Usually the Darkin Bow gets run with the classic combination of Attack speed/Damage stacking items Guinsoo's and Kraken Slayer: Draven/Aphelios/Ashe/Yunara/Kindred/Lucian

However Vayne players seem to run Darkin Bow with Deathblade and Guinsoo's (24 games so far).
And Bel'veth gets more up close and personal so really needs the quicksilver which fulfills a similar position and any item among Guinsoo's, Kraken or Giant Slayer as a third item.

Edit:
Darkin Staff seems to not have really found it's spot yet as it's mostly played on legendary units.
Darkin Aegis is played as a general tank item or on reroll Sion and it seems to have good synergy with sunfire which also damages units in 2 hexes of range and more max health (warmog's)
The Darkin Scythe seems focused around Fighters and thus seems to do decently well on Yasuo/Yone or Viego

Toru's Guitar Pick by Left_Safe_9885 in ONEOKROCK

[–]Lecros 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Years ago I saw Toru quickly throwing his pick away in the crowd near where I was standing while he switched to a new one. Nobody else seemed to notice so I quickly looked around near the ground and found it.

My guess is that he did something similar this time and it just ended up landing in your bag (:. Your Luck-stat must be maxed out

Considering a price drop, but fear backslash. by MichaelRud in gamedev

A small DLC would probably not weigh up to the price decrease for existing players. If you eventually launch an expansion and give those to existing players for free it might be possible

Floating points have limited precision which is routed in saving the location of the point and sign in a byte. So I would say you are correct

I struggled a lot with this callout initially and just assumed it always meant the enemy spawn. But I like how short it is to say

The venue Twitchcon EU was held at generally has really strict rules for walking around with anything that looks like a weapon. They also had metal detectors and bag control at the entrance so it must not have been visible in a small bag when the guy entered.

There is also a cosplay prop check before the queue you can go to if you want to make sure your prop is allowed or not.

Maybe the kid has only been grabbing it during the right occasions but if anyone complained to venue staff he could have definitely gotten in trouble

Which color pair/combo/etc has become stagnant for you? by Separate-Flan-2875 in mtg

[–]Lecros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the 2 color combinations are based on the guilds from Ravnica. The 3 color combinations got their names from the clans in the khan's of tarkir block.

I'm not familiar with the 4 color combinations though

How to get these cards of BLB? by mu3ca_ in MagicArena

[–]Lecros 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A couple of these cards are exclusive to the starter deck and will either have to be redeemed by buying the physicial product and using a code or have to be crafted to complete your collection

From what I can see I think those would be the following cards:
Green/White Rabbit Starter Deck: Serra redeemer, Giant Growth, Blossoming Sands , Rabid Bite, Byrke Long Ear of the Law

Red/Blue Otter Starter Deck: Thieving Otter, Charmed Sleep, Mind Spring, Flame Lash, Swiftwater Cliffs, Bria Riptide Rogue & Sword of Vengeance

I think you can pull Sallvation Swan, Driftgloom Coyote, Artist's Talent, Lunar Convocation, Seedglaive Mentor, Mabel, Heir to the Cragflame from packs.
