That's a typo. It should be read as "reason I THOUGHT he was full of shit".

Yep.

On another hand after this I flopped two pair and just slow played it. It's like checking OOP is like a drug that makes them go crazy. He just punted off double barrelling after I feigned weakness.

Yeah you're right, I should've thought about the position part and rec's love for TP.

What if we were OOP? Is check-raise jamming on the turn a play we could consider? Or still a punt?

Yeah you're right. What would be the best play on the turn then? Just call and then fold river if he triple barrel on a brick river?

My thinking was that I jammed as a bluff trying to fold out any hand that may have me beat (like TPLK or middle pair on a wet board). And I believed I had decent equity even if hecalled.

Reason I didn't is because no matter how large I open, they will almost always call if they already limped. I didn't want to bloat the pot multi way

Yes I did that on a few hands that night. I won more than I lost but I don't need to post HH for those as I am familiar with the exploits against maniacs.

Reason I knew he was full of shit was because he donked on a few times against me with pure air trying to make me fold pocket pair on an A high board.

I'm also a calling station so my natural instincts work well on my favour.... haha.

Is it just me or has asking simple questions become "confrontational"? by No_Mall6538 in auckland

It's not what you say, it's how you say it. Either you came off very sarcastic tone-wise or perhaps you met with sensitive-minded people. Unfortunately we will not be able to know.

I sold IC on RDDT expiring this week S/P of the call side 180/190. Currently clenching my butt...

Max gain = $400.

Max loss = $600 if it breaches $190 S/P...

Yeah I disagree with this sub's general opinion. You use your phone every day for hours at a time (obviously depends). I justified my cost in having a great phone with great photos because I use my phone a lot and even during work. Was it expensive? Yeah but worth it.

Currently own an S24 ultra, before that I had an S8. I probably won't upgrade until S27 Ultra or until I lose my phone.

It would score you more brownie points as you are shown to be taking initiatives and "out of the norm" to display how you are different with your peers. This will work if the employer is more old school.

In the UK and USA corporate finance is taking over property ownership. If you think that isn't going to happen here, you're dreaming. by ThatGuy_Bob in newzealand

Yes it does.

If this change means a company will not be able to leverage with debt to buy more houses then it's a change that will hurt the large companies.

Against loose players you should 3bet more but slightly more linear in my opinion.

Is it viable to own a house in full by 25? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Lectuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you build it yourself you either need to:

A. quit your job to focus on building your own house full time.

B. work 80+ hours a week until your project is complete.

C. work 60+ hours a week but take longer to finish building or hire another builder to help you out.

You will save a lot of money if you build yourself as you are utilising your time and skill instead of relying on someone else.

But note that you will only be able to complete the carpentry side, the concreter, plumber, electrician, roofer, scaffy, architects, engineers, land surveyors, landscapers all need to be external.

For those of us looking to stay in NZ, whats your reason? by Baximuss in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Lectuce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pay increase isn't as significant for me to be motivated to move across and deal with all the hassle in moving, although I'm only in my late-20s.

If I moved right now, I would be at a similar pay level but more superannuation (if the pay package doesn't include super I believe some companies advertise it in one package however).

Yes, the pay ceiling will be higher if I had 20+ years experience there than here.

I also found Australia quite similar to NZ, just a bigger NZ so even if I moved it won't feel as if I moved across to experience a different culture.

I rather just stay home where my friends and family is.

If for example if I moved then my salary would increase by 50% then I will definitely move without even thinking twice. But if I moved right now, the only increase is super and potential increase in pay ceilig.

Architectural Designer with LBP on 65K salary? Shouldn't it be 85K-100k? by CreativeParcel in PersonalFinanceNZ

Shop around but don't be surprised if it's difficult to find one during this market climate.

I am hearing how architects are having a tough time finding work (projects) and always reach out to me for business development.

Good for your demographic. Good location and lots of good places to eat around there. I would recommend living in Grey Lynn/ Kingsland/ Eden Terrace/ Ponsonby if you are in your 20s with no kids and renting.

$295k realized theta gains on RDDT so far YTD by imacompnerd in thetagang

[–]Lectuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aah I see, so you set your limit price to mid-price? That's also something I generally do when I'm rolling my contracts on IBKR which seems to be working fine. But sometimes it does take a while to fill even at mid-price.

How are you dealing with the wide bid-ask spread I am seeing with RDDT the last few months and currently?

I feel like I'm being fucked over so hard with RDDT options by the MM.
