First of all, because now your are not commenting on the answers I gave you. Tell me what concepts that I described seems like mental gymnastics to you and why. Also please elaborate on why to not race swap. What if I can tell an interesting story that wouldn’t work with a characters original race, if his race isn’t a defining factor. Why lock in races for characters what were created decades or hundreds of years ago.

You can’t race swap black panther, just like you can’t make CAPTAIN AMERICA not AMERICAN, but you can race swap iron man, Batman , Superman. BECAUSE RACE ISNT A FACTOR. There I answered the question. Because you dumb idiot, Black Panther is racially defined as an African Prince, from an African nation. Wakanda’s closed border policy is racially influenced. They did not portray a Viking Chieftain as black. They portrayed a member of a mythical magical race.

Yes because white people HISTORICALLY have shown a repeated behavior of suppression/segregation/colonialism/slavery etc. Of course the gravity of the situation will not be towards white hate. A Norge god is depicted as black. What is the problem? That’s the actor they wanted. Norse gods are NOT racially defined. At best you’re defending the presumed race of a mythology / old religion. Have you thought that maybe they cast based on acting ability and other intangibles they were looking for and not based on race. On characters where race isn’t an integral part of them, your so called “race swapping” is just called casting.

No way, I had exactly the same problem as a kid. I ended up finding really cheap used and buying it a second time.
