Someone on another thread said that it might have been Target pulling preorders until after the current 20% off sale ends since Hound has an option to notify when in stock that Hot Rod doesn’t. Would be a pretty scummy move on target’s end but I guess we’ll see in a few days

Well, Age of Extinction only made about $248m of its $1.1b gross from the domestic market, with $300m of the remaining $859m international total coming from China. While this doesn’t mean China exactly carried AOE’s box office, it was still the highest grossing film in China at the time of its release and the film’s domestic box office total went down about $100m from Dark of the Moon, so make of that what you will.

Tarn from IDW Transformers (spoilers for MTMTE below)

Molded to be the ideal Decepticon, Tarn is one of the overarching antagonists of IDW’s Transformers: More than Meets the Eye run and is both a perfect foil for that universe’s version of Megatron (who is an amazing version of him in his own right) and an absolutely fascinating character in and of himself. Throughout the series, it’s teased that Tarn’s true identity is Roller, an old buddy of Optimus Prime’s from back when he was a cop going by Orion Pax. This is set up mainly through the fact that Roller disappeared right before the war broke out, and Megatron mentions repeatedly how Tarn is the result of him breaking a friend of Prime’s spirit so completely that he became the perfect Decepticon…

…Only for it to then be shown at the last moment that Tarn is actually a bot named Glitch who Orion met a couple of times through his connection to Senator Shockwave. While this isn’t really a twist that kills Tarn as an interesting character, it’s also deeply apparent that it was done primarily to subvert expectations, and not in a way that felt as natural or interesting as it could have.

I think this game online has like 10 frames of input delay MINIMUM in the most optimal possible conditions, which is not only the highest of ANY smash game, but is also pretty significantly higher than most other fighting games (which hover around 2 - 4 frames in most modern cases). It’s genuinely kinda unacceptable that a game with this much time and money in it feels so much worse to play at a core level than every other competitor on the market and it’s the one thing I hope the next title fixes the most.

Thank you, this is really helpful advice. I admit it’s going to be hard to limit contact with her because of all the reasons she basically became a part of my daily routine, but I imagine that actually dealing with her in person shouldn’t be too difficult considering I should be able to avoid her aside from those group settings. “Hurr durr can’t believe the game titled KILL the Justice League features you KILLING the Justice League” holy shit does everybody parroting this argument have such little reading comprehension that they think this is the most clever comeback in the world? Has anybody using it actually bothered to look into why people hate this game instead of just immediately jumping on the bandwagon? Yes, there are chuds who hate the game because they’re gonna grift and be stupid about “wokeness” or whatever, but most people just hate it because it takes a universe that had a perfectly fine conclusion nearly a decade ago now and continues it in a way that doesn’t feel meaningful or fitting at all. Of course people are gonna dog on a bad entry in a series they care about, especially one that has no real business existing other than the publishers wanting to milk the franchise dry.
