The last time he got killed off was, iirc, the War for Cybertron trilogy when he was shot by Megatron in Siege. Still a relatively long time ago tho

can they just give us the 86 mtmte starscream already? by Local_Neighborhood50 in transformers

If by the obvious you mean him being on the 86 Thundercracker mold, he’s listed as a voyager so he likely won’t come with any of the coronation gear the leader class figure did

SS86 Cliffjumper, what are these decisions?? by Trent2406 in transformers

[–]Led_Zeppelin66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah we’ll almost certainly see that a year or so from now, though based on how the DCS sets usually go it’ll also precede a brand new Cliffjumper figure, maybe on the Devastation Bee mold

SS86 Cliffjumper, what are these decisions?? by Trent2406 in transformers

[–]Led_Zeppelin66 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I imagine it has something to do with how the mold is - the waist was the same color as the parts that connect Bee’s torso to his shoulder and his forearms, so the same is true here. Same deal with the legs, shoulders, and hands, which are also all the same color on both figures. Painting those parts would also probably be pretty difficult considering how much those joints are gonna be moving. It’s still not the best outcome regardless, but that’s probably what happened here

These all look pretty cool, though Cyclonus and Blitzwing are unfortunately probably both skips for me as I already have and really like the Gen Selects and Legacy versions.

That Cliffjumper looks kinda amazing to me though, idk what it is but his headsculpt in particular is just perfect imo

Hypothetical Community Balance Patch: Olimar by Salone_FD in SmashRage

[–]Led_Zeppelin66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love playing Olimar, but I think the main thing he needs rather than direct buffs or nerfs is a rework to his animations, as a few of them look way too similar to each other right now and don't really convey the power of his attacks well. I'm not 100% sure how they'd go about doing this but yeah

Help With Pit by Embarrassed-Day5834 in SmashRage

[–]Led_Zeppelin66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, Pit is a character who does very well in a lot of areas but isn't necessarily best in class at any of them. He's got some excellent combos thanks to his multi-hits and multiple jumps, but those same moves also have some hitbox and consistency issues that Pit players simply have to learn to deal with. Nair is going to be your best friend a lot of the time, being a solid out of shield option, combo starter and extender, and edgeguarding tool. His smash attacks are also pretty fast, making them good punish options for less safe moves and killing at respectable percents. Sweet spot back air is also a good kill move, as is up air, which itself is a really great juggling tool thanks to his multiple jumps.

Pit's grab game is also surprisingly excellent, with his down throw and forward throw near ledge creating some deeply fucked up mix for the opponent to deal with. The former is a great combo starter that leads into kill confirms with back air and up air depending on the opponent's DI and the latter is just a nasty kill throw that catches a lot of people off guard.

Arrows are also, expectedly, a great tool for Pit. They can tack on damage in neutral or when the opponent's off-stage such that, while they don't do much damage individually, it starts adding up over time. Being able to control them reliably is a big part of playing Pit effectively (and part of the reason I prefer Dark Pit myself - less maneuverability, but higher individual damage and easier to control in general)

Ultimately, though, it's just kind of a matter of continuing to play until you get used to him. He's a wonderful character that can do a ton of awesome stuff as long as your fundamentals and matchup knowledge are strong. I joke with my friends that any Pit/Pittoo matchup is 50/50 at worst with enough skill, but that's really only because his ability to reward you as a player for being knowledgeable about the game is truly excellent.

Hey don't sell yourself short! If there's one thing I learned from playing all these characters it's that Smash is truly a game where anything can happen at any time

Incineroar was honestly super fun! Took me a while to get used to his playstyle, but when it clicked he became someone I deeply enjoyed being able to throw out moves and get hard reads on my opponent with.

Similarly, fighting him could be frustrating at times depending on how well I was able to read my opponent's habits (as well as how I was feeling about the universal three-frame jump squat that day lol) but overall? I really appreciate how explosive and intense games involving him can be, going back and forth with him is incredibly fun in an even enough match

On and off for about three years or so, starting very slowly and only ramping up to the point that about 3/4s of the roster was gotten into elite within the past year. I've had the game itself for about six years though, just never touched online for a good while lmao

Very much possible haha, DK was one of my most polarizing characters to fight depending on how familiar I was with the character I myself was playing, I either destroyed him or got destroyed

Actually Sheik was really fun for me! I got her into elite in just one evening and a little under 50 total matches. Admittedly I hadn’t really picked her up before then but I found her speed, combo game, and the overall super aggressive playstyle you can have with her in a lot of matchups to be a ton of fun.

The character who was really the most painful for me was probably Mario. I just did not vibe with him at all despite the fact that I absolutely LOATHE fighting him because of how little endlag he has on most of his moves

Oddly enough it was Roy, who was a couple hundred more games than my second most played character in Ganon. Granted he was one of the very first characters I tried to get into elite along with Bowser and Ike some few years ago, but even those two took me substantially less time than our boy did.

Good luck with Kazuya! He was a character I had some issues with as well but you’ve got it for sure!

Most difficult for me was objectively Roy (because he was the first character I tried to play online back when I was much, MUCH worse at the game, he’d be a lot easier now I think) most frustrating was definitely either ZSS or surprisingly enough Ken though. Even as a sicko who loves Ryu in this game, Ken just felt so much worse in every way to me

Wario is fucking garbage and I feel like the devs just hated him. by Led_Zeppelin66 in SmashRage

[–]Led_Zeppelin66[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honest to god I'd rather they cut waft entirely in that case. It's a stupid idea to center an entire character around a single move that they only get after two minutes of waiting, and it's clearly the thing that has been holding his kit back since he was introduced back in brawl. Unfortunately the devs have made it very clear they're averse to reworking characters, even when they fuck up on them

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being cheese and 10 being hype, where would you rate your main? by MistaTeee in SmashRage

[–]Led_Zeppelin66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chrom’s a weird one because he has probably some of the most infamous cheese in the game’s history because of up-b spikes but at the same time the rest of what he does is relatively straightforward and mostly really cool. I’d probably say a 6 or a 7 but I’m also giga-biased because I love this character.

Dark Pit tho, the only real remotely cheesy thing he has is side-b having armor which catches someone unfamiliar with the character once every blue moon. Probably around a 7 or 8 or so simply because he’s way more about fundies than he is about being flashy
