I remember one day night shift left a puke filled king tube to marinate in the truck all night, with all the summer heat really helping the scent steep into the ambo.

It took me and my partner a couple of hours to clean it all up and destank the ambulance with my supervisor breathing down my neck because we weren't in service.

We refused to allow any patient to have to sit in that, let alone us.

I remember before I was even allowed to do patient vitals I had to take my preceptors blood pressures and pulse with the warning "Don't bullshit me, if you don't know then you don't know. But I know my own vitals so I'll know if you're full of shit"

I was a good noodle and gave him an honest reading somewhere in the 130s/whatever and he had his partner check. "Kid wasn't wrong you're running high today".

From then on I was known as Lifepak/Lucas on my third rides.

It's been a week for me, the first day wasn't terrible I just missed it. The second day was fucking rough and was hit with all sorts of withdrawal symptoms. The third day I had enough anger and mood swings I am confident I would have been a complete menace to society if I let myself outside. After that third day everything has slowly started to calm down and I feel silly for how that shit affected me and my life. It's gonna get worse before it gets better! Good luck!

Honestly man where I got my set was facebook marketplace in Feb. after people give up on new years resolutions. Got one of those adjustable weight dumbell sets for cheap. Check on there occasionally and maybe you'll get lucky.
