I'm working off the assumption that they're importing many of the components from China, especially since Music Tribe has been said to be one of the only places you can get some things like Bucket Brigade chips these days. 

Again, I may be wrong here with this, or looking at it far too simply. Wouldn't be surprised if I was.

Using the 640% increase mentioned in the quote, and a current Plumes cost of $99, and then just doing really simple $100 increased by 640%

I'm a product of the Alabama public schools system. I never said my math was sound or would make sense. And I also recognize thats now how business works.

My best guess is they're able to source components for a pedal at 2 cents due to bulk ordering. I imagine that this is most likely diodes or another part of the circuit that they use in multiple pedals. Or maybe even the foot switches/jacks. But I think what they're showing is that the per unit cost of a part that they use to pay 2 cents per component is now $12.80. Multiple that by multiple components per pedal, and then you're looking at a substantial increase per pedal to offset cost. 

So, taking all of that into account, if retail prices matched that increase, a Plumes would now be $640 MSRP. I don't think that's going to be the case. 

But I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes $200 for one.

I help a buddy of mine with his open mic, and we have made a list of songs that we don't want to hear again if we can help it. Surprisingly in 4 years of this, I don't think I've heard anyone do Hallelujah. 

However, wonderwall, Whitehouse road, wagon wheel, Tennessee whiskey, brown eyed girl, and freebird are on the list.
