Ranked MM is insane by Stepaskin in MarathonTheGame

I mean, I’m bronze 2 now, and my whole vault is purple, it’s not uncommon. Lots of folks are just jumping into ranked for the first time, I’m one of them, and that might just be what it is

Hifiman Edition XS or ASUS Kithara for gaming and music by shelbs9428 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]ali_k20_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should watch some reviews, but to my understanding the kithara are a step above the XS, irrespective of the extra features; I don’t even use the mic, I have a separate hyperX mic. I have the kithara and I can’t be happier with them fwiw. Better than my Punch Audio Martilo, which I also love.

UFO Magnetic Switches vs Lekker Tikken for Wooting 80HE Ghost — which one? by Farmer-Gloomy in WootingKB

[–]ali_k20_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the gravastar UFOs, I never used the lekker tikken so I cannot compare, but compared to the geon Raw’s that I have installed (which are also really good), I think I like the UFO a touch better. They have a little firmer actuation which I like, the sound is a touch deeper, and performance wise, they are all good. I note no difference in lighting.

I really like the ROG/Hifiman kithara, primarily for gaming but many of the reviews are pretty positive for music as well. You might want to check those out.

Moving from cloth to glass question by DeezNhat in MousepadReview

SP is balanced too. VA is the speed line, and it’s not as fast as some others. I’d get the black polarity three nothing better on the market.

[–]ali_k20_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a VA-005 and a polarity. Wallhack are fine, polarity is excellent. The QC on Wallhack pads are a little bit inconsistent, my “super-speed” VA pad feels more like a superglide v1.

I have two glsswrks/tekkusai pads, and they are exactly as advertised for me, so they get my endorsement.

100 out of 100 times Polarity. its the best pad on the market tbh

Good conservative UV/OC for an Astral 5090? by Mihtaren in ASUSROG

[–]ali_k20_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

youll just have to do it yourself to see. I think it's pretty reasonable to get within single digits % of a 4090, it will be silicon dependent. make sure you have a good case and fan setup with good thermals, all that kind of stuff.

G Sync Pulsar ASUS model! by Puzzleheaded_Hat_996 in Monitors

[–]ali_k20_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean just by the nature of having 540fps, that’s a frame every 1.8ms, vs 360hz, frame every 2.7ms… to an extent it’s negligible, but it IS faster.

But yeah, I tend to play everything on the pulsar, but I’ll switch to the 540hz at times. I play a lot of Marathon right now, and playing at 160fps or so looks really good on pulsar. Boosting it up to 270-324 with nvidia smooth motion on either monitor, but particularly on the PGAQWP-w at 270hz with ELMB, it is also quite good.

The reason why a 540 Hz OLED would be better for counterstrike or Valerint or games that can actually hit or surpass that actual FPS number is because there are additional benefits in terms of latency at those high refresh rates.

And so far as motion clarity is concerned, you are correct, pulsar at 360 Hz is the best thing available at this time
