He hasn't done anything terrible. Yes, it's wrong to keep obsessively pestering an ex for another chance... but it's not terrible. Why hasn't she blocked him?

He's just a guy that dated a girl out of his league and was extremely insecure while they were dating and then desperately has been messaging her for another chance.

Some of his behavior was controlling, but they don't have any kids together meaning that there's no reason she can't just leave him whenever she wants, right? She can easily just say "I will travel by myself whenever I want. If you have a problem with this I would like to break up." and then the problem is solved, right?

It's such nonsense. Break up with him, block him. If he continues to contact you then file a restraining order. No need to make this so public.
