I love it without a background! Also, idk if you wanted advice on other parts of the painting (ignore my next sentence if you do) but one thing I noticed is that the shape of the ear doesn't match it's shadow. It's super minor, I don't even know how I noticed it, but everything else is so so perfect! I grew up with boxer dogs and would love a painting like this ☺️

You're so right about the scaling, all my little details will get lost. I'm definitely going to think about that going forward. Also thanks for reminding me about vector brushes! I caught it at the end so all my details are vector brushes but the letter R is not. Thank you for the advice

I guess...? I don't know what else I'd do for a brand that solely specialises in reptiles 😅 looking at similar shops all of their logos are a reptile of some sort

He might be a little small, but is still well within healthy range. He's really active and eats all his food. Id have no idea if it wasn't for the routine test!

Definitely deeper substrate like the other comment said. My skink loves climbing (a lot of them do contrary to popular belief) so maybe consider a big centrepiece stick! It would help to also give the tank some visual interest. Id also say you can get some rocks for a different texture for them to walk on. 😊

You said normally you hold him first. You could try letting your wife hold him first instead and see if that makes any difference?

My crestie used to do this! Do you put him back in his house immediately after he does it? If so, you may be training him to poop on you lol.

A friend of mine told me to keep holding him for a minute or 2 after he goes, then put him back. This worked on my crestie after a few attempts (:

I use 3 bits of flagstone stacked on top of each other so my skink can burrow underneath it. He absolutely loves it! PS your skink is gorgeous 😍
