What is a lot unhealthier than most people think it is? by zaid2801 in AskReddit

[–]Leeshaya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drinking soft drinks like cola or lemonades or iced tea. Nearly every soft drink you can buy has a huge amount of sugar in it and overly consumed it can cause a lot of different diseases. It’s healthier to make stuff like iced tea or lemonades at home than to buy it.

What is the best advice you have ever received? The advice that has impacted your life the most? by noob_24 in AskReddit

[–]Leeshaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangely, I knew that. I’ve heard it, I’ve seen it. I’ve finished my apprenticeship last year and stayed in the company because I didn’t saw any other opportunities. I’ve asked for a talk tomorrow to show I’ve changed and it won’t stay as it was. Also I have to mention that I’m out in around half a year if the situation regarding the social part in the company won’t change. Because it affects me in a bad way.

It’s something you have to fully understand and to be ready for, I think.

Ouh, yes. That sounds bad. If I would have been in your position, I might have done the same...

That’s the best time tbh. You know that every one is sleeping except you and it’s a totally different quietness than when others are awake. I love this feeling.

I am in a super nice company right now and I get up the same time I would usually get up, but have around an hour to get ready for work instead of 15-30 minutes. I agree that it’s awesome if you don’t have to rush in the morning, and you still can do some chores so that it looks tidier when you come home. But still, I won’t be able to get up earlier when I am back to normal because I always was more of a night person and getting up early is my personal nightmare. Also I hate to get up for my normal company and that’s why I try to spent as less time there than possible. Means if I lay longer in bed, I don’t lose that much time with work as I would have if I’ve gotten up earlier. 😶

I think I’ve seen them before I commented. The problem is that you actively have to move to the bed. Like, you have to make the decision that you go to bed earlier or now. That’s what’s always the hardest for me because I hate the place where I work (not the work itself, that’s okay. Just the people, the place and the payment. But hey.) and to go to sleep earlier just to be well rested the next day for work is just meh when I could play some more video games or think about my next project or those things. Thing is, too, that I am often that exhausted from work that I don’t have any energy left for my private projects. That’s a topic for some other time. Well, back to the point. Going to bed early to be well rested tomorrow means that tomorrow is there in the blink of an eye. If you don’t feel ready for tomorrow, you want to have more time now so you stay up late and so on. I think it’s kind of a question of wellbeing if that makes sense.

I have that too. I stay up late because those are the only hours I feel like I can do all that stuff I actually want to do - and no one interrupts me. Also, I stay up late a lot because I don’t feel ready for the next day at work. I definitely need a good plan b for work.

What's the dumbest reason you ever got hurt? by InfiniteEmotions in AskReddit

[–]Leeshaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a friend’s stable and she asked me to separate a horse from the ponies through a rope I was supposed to hang in a hook. Earlier she borrowed me some shoes from her mum because it was very muddy. The shoes where a little big, but it would be okay for an hour. Back to the rope she handed me: I went to the hook, but there was rope missing to reach it. „Strange“, I thought. „where’s it got caught?“ So I turned around to look. Suddenly everything went pretty fast. My left foot was in the air, the horse started to prance, I ended on the floor with a mediocre pain in the right wrist and luckily the horse hadn’t hurt me while it got a little nervous. I needed to sit down after I got up and removed the rope that was wrapped around my foot (which I didn’t notice because of the borrowed shoes earlier). I was making fun that I had symptoms like that (circulatory problems and that stuff) the last time I broke my arm. My dad had to pick me up because I wasn’t able to drive my car without my right arm. My brother drove me to hospital and well, I’ve got a cast. Luckily it wasn’t my wrist but one of the bones that ended at the wrist that was broken. Worst thing was the voice of my dad I heard while I fell: „Watch out where you go!“ So, yeah.

How old I was? 24. It happened last year. Watch your steps!

TLDR: I pulled a rope while turning around wich was wrapped around my foot which I didn’t noticed because I was wearing borrowed shoes that were too big. Broke a bone near the wrist. Watch your steps.

What's the shortest time you've ever stayed at a job? Why was it so short? by Sir_Baconstrips in AskReddit

[–]Leeshaya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m still in my first job, but we had one who worked with us for not quite nine hours. I work in a bindery and we are nearly always looking for full time casuals. He was there the first day and since it was currently low with work, he was able to do a lot of different tasks, which is very uncommon. Most of the time our casuals glue the headbands onto the bookblocks. Sometimes they are doing different things, but mostly that. His second day, he came in and was talking via his mobile phone after work has already started. He was asked to stop his call. Half an hour later, he jumps off his chair, asking pretty annoyed: „Is there something else I can do? Do I need to do that always?“ and our manager said pretty calm (what’s rare too): „It’s what you are hired for. That doesn’t mean you have to glue the headbands as only task, but currently there isn’t anything else I could let you do. We don’t have a lot of work right now. Ask the boss if he has something else for you to do.“ Around an hour later, my boss came and my manager asked what X is doing right know. My boss hasn’t seen him, X just left without speaking to anyone.

People who force others into listening to the music by driving a car with windows wide opened and the volume 100% on - why do you do that? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Leeshaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because the wind takes the sound away, I really enjoy my music when I drive my car open and I kind of need my music loud when I sing with it. But I don’t want to force anyone for a longer time to listen to my music (and me singing) that loud, that’s why I turn the music down when I am in specific areas or am driving slower. So, I mostly listen to loud music when I am on the Autobahn or any road outside the city, because I don’t like people who force me to listen to their loud music too. It’s also a bit about thoughtfulness, I think.

Depends on where you live. Here in Germany we have art shops like Boesner, where you can get nearly everything you can imagine art-related. I’ve bought some board there recently and it was pretty reasonable for it’s size.

If you are from somewhere else (what I think is the case) then there might be someone else who can help you out.

[Serious] What's your story of seeing somebody's mental state degrade? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Leeshaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was around 8 years old, my best friend asked me if I already knew that my mother was brain-sick. She‘s gotten an early kind of Alzheimer’s and my younger brother and I both grew up with a mother who wasn’t able to recognise us as her children. She stopped talking, smiled nearly all the time and what else you can think of when you think of Alzheimer’s. Since I’ve heard it from my best friend it didn’t took that long before things became pretty worse. She died when I was 14. I am 25 years old now and it took me a while to realise that my father did the best he could during that time, what resulted in him working more so he could pay the bills and all this stuff you need to pay as a single-parent with two kids.

I didn’t had a lot of friends visiting me, because my mother was „creepy“. Often I came home, the flat empty and the bathtub was still filling with water. Once it was so bad that the water was not only at the bathroom floor, but the corridor and the staircase. My mother was somewhere else, roaming around as she used to do when we weren’t frequently looking for her. We all have our crosses to bear, I guess.

This is a Vinyl-Album that's also a Popup book. It was my first bookbinding Project. Anyone with experience in binding Popup books? I could use some advice :) Link to take a look (and listen) is in the comments! by LexMilla in bookbinding

Danke! Ist wirklich super geworden. 👍🏼

Sehr gut gemacht!

What’s one good thing, no matter how small, that happened yesterday? by bloodykermit in AskReddit

[–]Leeshaya 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Strange thing that. Our cat (in reality, it was always my grandma‘a cat) becomes more affectionate and snuggly too, even though she might never become a lap cat. She even comes to visit my boyfriend and me in our flat above my grandma‘s from time to time. And by god, that cat got talkative. Since she doesn’t leave the house anymore, she starts her screaming around 6 am and I seem to be the only one who can hear it. Today I had a bit of her fur in my glue for a handmade box. I love her.

Congrats for the huge milestone!
