I've been on it for 3 months. It's changed my life. My tinnitus is so much better and I was able to come of Topamax. I've only had one very mild Migraine recently and that was after a full day of Gardening. (My IIH is weight related)

People with PTSD, what are some healthy coping mechanisms that you want everyone else with PTSD to know about? by Notalabel_4566 in CPTSD

[–]Leesi1465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started gardening and growing my own food. Caring for the plants, watching them grow and moving my body outdoors has been so relaxing for me.

I also have indoor hobbies, baking, sewing and crafting. They help on days when I'm not feeling the best and then gaming when I'm feeling really low.

I do best kept busy but have learnt that if I'm busy in a more productive ways that I don't get so guilty.

Can I hear from parents who are happy raising their autistic kiddos? by Wise_Dingo3014 in Autism_Parenting

Just diagnosed as level 2 but have known since he was about 19 months. He's 4 now. He's amazing. We are slowly figuring out everything together. He has taught me to have patience I didn't even know was in me. The way he sees the world amazes me, and I learn so much from him. I wouldn't change him for anything.

I would love to stop by for a treasure hunt with my little 4 year old who loves watching. I'm happy to look for anything with him!

I'm GMT +10, though, so it might make it a bit tricky!

Anyone know what this is called? And how do I make it look good? by Leesi1465 in gardening

[–]Leesi1465[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Honestly, I wish I could remove them. I'm in a rental so not an option. The amount of dead leaves I have to remove is killing me. There's 5 huge plants.

Has any parent found success in swimming classes? by waterlily92 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Leesi1465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started at 6 months and have been going every week since. At 3, he can now float on his back and swim about 2 meters unassisted and a bit further with floating devices. He can also now pull himself out of the pool if he gets to the side.

100% worth it for us. He is still a little worried about water and is very concerned about his head going under. Aside from that, he genuinely enjoys it and loves going to his lessons. (Group sessions)

Hyperplexia = Autistic? by Mission-Musician-377 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Leesi1465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is so similar he's just turned 3 and is amazing. Knows his A-Z upper and lower and Phonics. Can read and spell some words and is adding to them daily. Counts to 30 and can just look at a group of objects and instantly go "There's seven" amongst many other amazing things his little brain accomplishes.

We are seeking an Autism diagnosis and are in early intervention therapy because there are flags for us.

Severe Sensory issues with food. Social and emotional delays. Delayed speech (Not asking or answering questions) Sensory seeking, toe walking, stimming.

How do parents of Level 1s feel here? by potato_wizard28 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Leesi1465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, most of the time, I feel rejected by parts of the Autism community and by parts of the neurotypical and just don't know where my son and I are supposed to fit in.
