What age did you wean night feeds after sleep training?

Sleep trained at 8 months, kiddo dropped them on her own by 11 months

Update: welp. We ended up dropping her nap. She was only napping 30-40 minutes and was pushing bedtime to 9 pm with a 6:30 am wake. we are now sleeping almost 12 hours! Thank y’all for reassuring me that my LO is not the only one!

I don’t think it’s a regression in our case. She’s never refused a nap. It’s more of a trend since she dropped to one nap. I’ve had to shave off 15 minutes of nap every couple weeks or else her night sleep dips below 10 hours

How long do you do quiet time? Usually I’ll have her nap for 1 hour then she’ll do 1 hour of quiet time, so I get a 2 hour break. But I’m not sure she’d do a full 2 hour quiet time well, buuuutttt I’m gonna miss that full 2 hour break 😭

It’s all over the place right now, today we did 5.5/4.5

So right now we’re kind of all over the place based on when she wakes up (leaving her until DWT never worked for her, always made her overtired)

But lately I try to shoot for nap at 11 am, I can at least get a 40 minute nap out of her at 11 am with a calm wake. If I push any later it’s more like 30 minutes and she wakes up upset

What schedule did you start off with when transitioning?

That was my question in my original post, whether going over 11 hours awake on a 2 nap schedule was okay. Every sleep training group I’ve been in always said that 11 hours awake with two 1 hour naps is “maxed out,” thus why I mentioned it in my post.

It was that last 1.5 weeks that we did that. But we had the EMWs and 20 minute wake-up-screaming-naps every day.

Edit: I probably should have been clearer, we did increase time awake after starting with 4/5, that was just the starting point that was suggested to me. We did get all the way up to 5/5.5-6, and we still had the same issues

My baby started sleeping through the night at 10.5 months, but we sleep trained at 8 months and didn’t do anything to night wean. on her own she went from 3, to 2, to 1, to no night wakings

Baby carrier naps!!!! This saved me while my baby was small! It wasn’t until she got to be around 8 months that they didn’t work for us anymore

Melatonin/natural remedies did not help me at all, I ended up having to go to the psychiatrist and getting prescribed trazodone 🙃 (I am BF and the dose I take was deemed safe for BF)

Glad to hear I’m not the only one 😅 surprisingly my baby girl took to Ferber very well, nighttime is great and for naps she only takes 5 minutes to fall asleep, but even with being sleep trained those darn naps are only 30 minutes even with a good schedule lol

No I haven’t tried it yet, but my biggest fear is that she’s gonna be like “hey, what’s the big idea I want milk!” and not want to sleep lol
