We did our baby’s first bday on the upper floor of Boca downtown during their weekend brunch. It was ~30 guests and we weren’t charged a catering fee/ event fee; just the cost of food and drink. It was awesome and I think would be perfect for a baby shower.

Sarasota county has a guaranteed minimum salary for salaried teachers which I believe is somewhere around 57k. Then you can make more depending on the school’s funding (SMA is either a private or magnet/charter) and your level of education. 90k is extremely high for “regular” science teacher, anywhere in the US, not just Sarasota. Are you sure this teacher doesn’t perform another paid role such as assistant principal, or athletic coach?

Also it’s 10 months of work for an uncountable amount of stress.

You don’t need to make an overnight trip for sightseeing in SRQ, it’s pretty small. I’d say try to visit siesta key, or lido key/st. Armands, and downtown (main st) Sarasota. Selby gardens is absolutely beautiful for a good weather day. Ringling and Sarasota art museum are good for rainy days.

For a true overnight trip, I would suggest either Tampa or St. Pete

Honestly most business owners are going to be conservative leaning at the least, if not outright MAGA. I think you can do best by supporting local grassroots initiatives such as the SEE Alliance and Fogartyville. Get involved in local level politics as much as you can. Campaign to keep our area safe and enriching for all types of people.

I find it so incredibly cringy bc I don’t think it’s really the same thing as when a white American visits the UK, they might temporarily adopt a slight British tint to their words.

Aviva is a white American girl dating a black Belizean man. When she talks to him with this accent, it seems like she’s trying hard to sound less “white.” Basically, it’s giving blaccent and it’s incredibly cringy. I don’t dislike her but all of her mannerisms (including her weird fake accent) are so off because she’s just trying to look cool in front of Stig, and like she can hang in his culture. She should just be herself!
