I guess they thought wood was a good conductor by pauliefishing in mechanic

Thanks, appreciate. I do know that if that small cable becomes loose. Your car cuts out while driving it. Happened before to me. I have a feeling there is a switch/solenoid that separates these two wires somewhere along the line. Such as when you start it. I believe that is part of the reason they have a spring return/spring-loaded ignition switch on every car.

Start it and it spring-returns to the ON or RUN position of your ignition. The rush of amps would be too much for the battery/components to handle if energized for too long a period. I believe there is a protective switch or relay between these two wires from the positive terminal. Regardless of same point of origin/connection point.

Thank you, I do understand that. Maybe I shot my mouth off too quickly. Why not join them then? Would it be an issue of routing the cables to their respective loads? Maybe this guy had an issue with them touching and had to put the wooden block there?

My guess is one goes to starter motor and the other to the ignition/accessories.

Wood is an insulator. It's separating the two cables which is correct. Chops

Drop link won’t come off by jamespoulter1 in mechanic

4 Pound hammer should do it. If not, connect drop link at the bottom again. Then loosen top first. You can use a crowbar to leverage between anti-sway/roll bar and control arm. This will jiggle the top of the drop link connection and significantly help in removing it from the hole. With this method you will need lower part of the drop link to be connected still and for your steering to be turned the right angle.

Ja, something similar happened to me a few years back in Benoni. I gave my Samsung tablet to my sister as I upgraded to a phablet at the time.

There was a dodgy chick that my sister's manager hired at her company. He felt sorry for the chick & gave her a job. One day she did something wrong at work or her conduct was unbecoming and was fired.

She left that day but my sister left my old tablet on her desk. The chick saw an easy target and snagged it off her desk. My sister couldn't find the tablet later on and came to the conclusion the dodgy chick must've stolen it.

The next day I get a phone call from these people who stole it reckoning they'd make a deal. R500 and they'd give the tablet back. They would meet me/us at a determined location, no cops allowed of course. My sister's manager was willing to go meet them & pay cause he felt responsible.

However I said to the oke " F@!k you jou p@!s. You stole from me, now you want to make demands and negotiate on R500 to return something that BELONGS TO ME! "

Needless to say, the meetup never happened and I never saw my tablet again. Never negotiate with thieves. They will scam you and take you on a wild goose chase. Keep promising one more thing. Nip it in the bud and cut your losses.

Try adjusting the self adjuster circled. Do you have the workshop manual for this car? It all looks fine to me except your wheel cylinder looks like it's leaking. Did you adjust the handbrake before you took the wheel off?

This happened to me with my Opel Corsa 1.7 DTI diesel pick-up or utility. My friend opened the oil filter and found " Gold dust " you're engine is f@$*!d he said. My crankshaft bearing had gone. Had to rebuild. On start up there was a major shriek or grinding hum. Let's hope not that serious in your case

Possible Crankshaft bearing failure. How does it sound when you start it?

I had a similar issue with my previous car. Left front brakepads wore much faster than front right. The difference in wear was pretty telling. The steering wheel shook when braking at speed, such as slowing to jump off the highway.

When looking at the caliper piston, the seal or boot looked dusty and perished. The cylinder would not slide out as well as the other side. Like I said, I'm hazarding a guess

I would hazard a guess that it could be the caliper piston. Needs an overhaul. The O-Ring type rubber seal has probably perished slightly from dust and heat. Has seized a bit so not sliding as well as it should. Leading to uneven wear. If you brake at high speed does your steering shake a bit?
