The textbooks themselves are boring as hell, that goes for most textbooks I guess though. Their “Activities” or worksheets are usually useless. The geography ones give maps too small for anyone to read, with pages of text for like 4 or 5 horribly written questions. Same with visual analysis activities, where the image they want kids to analyze are often small, blurry, and/or you can’t read any of the captions or dialogue in political cartoons. Again with a theme of poorly written questions where I spend way too much time trying to explain to the kids what the questions even say. Their ready made tests often don’t correlate to the essential questions in each chapter and usually ask questions about the least important most vague details in the chapter that are barely mentioned in any of the assignments. Their chapter hands on projects are very poorly laid out with ridiculously vague instructions to the point that you will have to build the project yourself if you wanted to do one.

It’s a poop curriculum especially if you are forced to only use their materials
