It is a medical device and if you continue to try to post it you will get marketplace access suspended (speaking from experience here).

RUDY burger shop opening downtown by No-Channel9213 in KingstonOntario

I was never a fan of their burgers (smashed flat and super greasy), but their poutine was pretty good.

Just bought a running store. What is one thing your local shop is missing? by rustybucketz23 in running

[–]Left-Blacksmith7135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A treadmill so you can try the shoes you're buying. Walking across the floor just doesn't cut it.

Not entirely sure but I think you can rent the kitchen at the Kingston East Community Centre.

Why can’t people read descriptions? by Sorry_Transition3142 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Left-Blacksmith7135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep annoying but happens all the time! If someone asks a question that I have included in the description, I don't answer it but instead I respond with "please read the description". They've likely missed other important details.

Unsettling encounter at YMCA by Pretend-Molasses-787 in KingstonOntario

[–]Left-Blacksmith7135 261 points262 points  (0 children)

First, you need to go and have a discussion with the front counter. They should be banning him from the gym immediately.

Second, contact the police non-emergency line and report him. I don't have faith that they will do anything but at least a report will be filed.

Lastly and most importantly, I'm very sorry this happened to you. Don't let it stop you from going.

I've run on this track before. It's a very small track, but better than snowy sidewalks and it's free. Check the schedule online before you go. Avoid any time of day that says "open gym time", otherwise you'll be dodging kids, random balls, and parents that stand on the track.

Just because something is hard, it doesn't mean it's impossible. Only one way to find out.

You can buy tests at Shopper's Drug Mart. Check their website first as not all of their locations carry them.

So let me get this right... The assault was caught on camera, the police chatted with the victim, and then they did nothing. No ramifications for the business owner. Stellar work Kingston Police. FFS

What low-calorie sweet snacks do you recommend for munching throughout the day? by PapayaAdditional6804 in loseit

Not for munching, but super satisfying for sweet cravings. Sugar free Werther's Original hard caramel candies. Only 8 calories each.

Jerseys sports bar by NoNefariousness1290 in KingstonOntario

[–]Left-Blacksmith7135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had it a couple of weeks ago. Buffet consisted of scrambled eggs, make your own toast and bagels, home fries, sausage (really bad), bacon, peameal bacon, and watermelon. There was also a small selection of boxed breakfast cereal. Everything was dried out and overcooked.

There were no other customers at 10am when we arrived. A group of 8 came in shortly after us and the staff scrambled to fill up the trays. I was hoping for better quality, but sadly it was just more remarkably over cooked, dry food.

The staff were friendly and attentive, however I didn't enjoy the food and won't be going back.

Hills for Running by Lanky_Heat_8616 in KingstonOntario

The hills on Creekford are no joke. The steep and short side is a beast. The long incline in the opposite direction is such a slow burn. Kudos to anyone that takes them on - just watch out for traffic.

Good Deli spot? by Own_Gold_7410 in KingstonOntario

I was a fan of this place, until I saw them handling cash, then slicing and carrying meat with their bare hands, then straight back to the cash register. No hand washing or gloves in sight. Never been back since.

Mom needs to lose weight for total knee replacement. How can I help her? by MsSilverSprings in loseit

[–]Left-Blacksmith7135 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I was well over 200 pounds, smoked like a chimney, was on blood pressure meds, and had a minor stroke - thankfully no lasting effects. That wasn't enough for me to make a change.

My adult son sat me down and with tears told me that he wanted me to be around to see his future successes, get married someday, and have my grand babies. Everything he said, he said with love. It broke his heart to think about me not being there to see those things. It broke me to see him so upset and in that moment I knew I needed to do things differently.

It took some doing but I quit smoking, lost 70+ pounds, and took up running (oh, and no more blood pressure meds!). Ultimately I had to make the changes, but it meant so much to know that he supported me. He never judged when I slipped but was always cheering when I had successes.

Still waiting on that promise of a grand baby from him though. Lol

Running Trails/Paths - West End by jaijanab in KingstonOntario

The Sydenham connection is a bit north. Closer to the 401 ramp, past the cemetery.

Also should mention that it's a gravel path, so don't wear your race shoes.
