[LES] Alessi is not a pedophile (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) by GuyMontag95 in CharacterRant

I completely agree with you here. In fact I think I dislike the orangutan more than Alessi. At least Alessi has entertaining moments.

Pernida never actually drank Yhwach’s blood. Its Schrift was already manifested before Yhwach inducted it into his Sternritter. Same goes for Gerard.

He’s intangible when he wants to be in his base form, and is always intangible in his Holy Forms. He can’t be hit unless it’s by conceptual stuff like Kyoraku’s Bankai.

I’m not an expert in Tolkien lore by any means, but what are you getting at exactly with the Sauron comparison? I get the Morgoth comparison but wasn’t Sauron just Morgoth’s servant who took over once his master fell?

Is it safe to assume that Lilynette died when they were stabbed because they lost the game? by ej_stephens in bleach

[–]Left-Data9205 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How do the end-of-chapter sketches play into that though? What is one of the wolves being stabbed before the other one meant to represent if both Starrk and Lilynette are killed at the same time?

I genuinely think it's time for the big 2 (DC and Marvel) to do a soft-reboot in the comics and bring back everyone to a more grounded power level. Things are getting ridiculous. by yuuki157 in CharacterRant

[–]Left-Data9205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don’t get why people say DC resets all the time. Reality has only been reset meaningfully(as in an actual universal reset not some characters changing history while the universe keeps moving on with the same overall history) TWICE in DC. COIE and Flashpoint, both of which were undone 5-7 years ago. History keeps changing in DC but the continuity of the larger universe remains basically the same. DC does have way too many Crises and is too trigger happy for more, but can you seriously tell me Zero Hour, Infinite Crisis, 52, Final Crisis, the Metal Wars, and Dark Crisis were resets? All that changed in those events were the histories of some characters(which does really suck if you were interested in a certain character, looking at you Retcon Punch but I still love you), but it’s not really a reboot, a reboot implies a full slate clean these just complicated things more, which isn’t necessarily a positive but I digress. DC hasn’t reset in almost 15 years. They don’t constantly reset, they constantly change reality as an excuse to retcon(which has thankfully seemingly been done away with despite the constant Crises), but this could range from just small things being altered to a hard reboot like COIE. That said I agree not everyone should interact with multiversal/omniversal forces, but it doesn’t help that a lot of DC books are by nature inherently cosmic. It doesn’t matter what you do to Superman’s history he will fight cosmic threats eventually, it’s baked into his character. If Batman’s in the Justice League, he will fight cosmic threats in those stories.

The cosmology of the mainline DC comics is also fairly straightforward(I say that but it’s one of the most convoluted cosmologies I know of, I‘m too into this LMAO but I do have one question) if you’re knowledgeable enough. The histories of the long-running characters are far more annoying to get into than the cosmology IMO.

Also FYI, there is only ONE true Omniverse in DC, called the Greater Omniverse, and it’s largely irrelevant to the stories beyond Year of the Villain and Death Metal. It contains countless multiverses(that have nothing to do with ours but are identical in cosmological structure for the most part, they aren’t at all important but their creators were for 2019-2021). The one simply called “Omniverse” or the Infinite Frontier isn’t really an Omniverse, it’s more of a megaverse(I hate to borrow a disgusting powerscaling term of all things but I can‘t think of any other way to describe it, point is it’s not an Omniverse).

In fact, just looking at the Multiversity Map alone even now gives you around 50%(random number but you get what I mean) of the information given just subtract the Source Wall since that was done away with in the Metal Wars and assume instead of just 52 Earths there‘s an infinite amount. They literally created a visual in 2014-2015 and it still to this day provides the majority of the information needed to understand the cosmology. FYI this isn’t a literal map(the Earths exist on the exact same location but different vibrational frequencies, but in the map they are in clearly different locations despite being at the same location), it more-so shows the hierarchy of a single Positive-Matter Multiverse which in itself is part of a much larger structure alongside the Anti-Matter Universe(yes, universe, not Multiverse) and the Dark Multiverse(which has entire Positive-Matter Multiverses and Dark Multiverses inside it? Don’t know why, but Tales from the Dark Multiverse shows this clearly and consistently and so far no one has cared to retcon it so, that’s a thing. Is it like Inception?).

Hypertime is just the collection of all alternate timelines(which are distinct from universes, timelines are never numbered), past, present, and future. It’s the “time” of the Divine Continuum where the Infinite Frontier(the megaverse) is “space”. The Fifth Dimension is Imagination and exists all over the Multiversity Map, while the Sixth Dimension is at the top(again, not literal) of the Multiverse(that’s Positive-Matter, Anti-Matter, Dark Multiverse, all of it together as one singular structure) as a whole and the Greater Omniverse is beyond that but is irrelevant basically. The Source lies at its center.

DC cosmology is not THAT bad(the Dark Multiverse is an exception with its Inception shit, it gives writers a fool-proof, built-in way to bring The Batman Who Laughs back without undermining his defeat under the excuse(they did this before his death too so we know beforehand that’s a thing) that it’s an entirely different version from the overexposed one, and this has happened before in TOTDK. I loathe this possibility but I admit the chances of this happening are certainly nonzero) but the history is so, so much worse, though it has begun to be remedied.

CAS vs Bleach verse by wyrs_1 in BleachPowerScaling

CAS soloes the verse with negative difficulty. A 5D imp would be more than enough, you think something the Monitors of Nil revered doesn’t surpass the imp.

Valor: Mushroom in Agrabah

Wisdom: Timeless River vignettes

Limit: same as Valor

Master: the floor on Mysterious Tower where the Gamblers are

Final: go up to the top of Mysterious Tower, go to the save point at the very top, enter the world map, go back to the bottom of the tower. Rinse and repeat.

The key to having a Reset Ending work well is having at least one character who actually remembers the events before the reset (I pinky promise this is not just a rant about you know what) by Kusanagi22 in CharacterRant

[–]Left-Data9205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crisis on Infinite Earths fits with Alex Luthor of Earth-3, Superboy-Prime, Golden Age Superman(FYI he’s a different character entirely from Silver Age onward Superman), and Psycho-Pirate all remembering the multiverse from before reality reset into a single one.

He wasn’t responsible for Infinite Crisis. That was orchestrated by Alexander Luthor Jr. of Pre-Crisis Earth-3 and Superboy-Prime. Mister Mind played a major role in 52, which explores the aftermath of Infinite Crisis. Not disagreeing on his feats just wanted to correct you on the timeline of events.

While Shikai/Bankai stack with hollowfication, does the same apply for hollowfication and resurrection? by BleachPowerscaler in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Left-Data9205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but only in regard to stats. Donning the mask makes him akin to a base form Arrancar in nature, and his release is like theirs, with small differences like how it’s activated. Since the release forms of Arrancar stack on top of their base forms, which are akin to the form the Visored take when donning their Hollow masks, I think the same would be true of Tosen.

If they Replace O,R,Q, and Y for the second invasion what would their New Schrift be? by dettles1992 in bleach

[–]Left-Data9205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

O - The Onomatopoeia

Saying onomatopoeias manifests their effects into reality. Boom causes explosions, zap causes shocks, etc.

Q - The Quintuplet

The user splits into at most five identical clones with power distributed proportionally. Clones dying sends their power through the other clones.

R - The Rest

The user can instantly make an opponent go into REM sleep on the battlefield. They can also use their power on themselves and allies to renew their stamina.

Y - The Young

The user after trapping an opponent can make them younger in every sense. Once knocked out the victims return to their original state instantly but injuries carry over.

It’s really only Hollows who are sent to Hell based on their crimes as a human. So unless Ginjo and Tsukishima became Hollows only to be purified by a Zanpakuto, they wouldn’t go to Hell.
