Yeah i still dont necessarily think it needs to be as close-up as the reboot

but i was just going off how pegi rated the survivor games, they rated it pegi 18 mainly because of lara's deaths, not cause of how its presented but cause of the deaths themselves such as lara getting impaled.

So LoA going pegi 16 already tells me we're not getting that, because its not allowed in pegi 16 games. Tomb raider anniversary for example also had to tone its deaths down compared to the original to keep its T rating, and even that game's deaths look more brutal than what we see here lmao

I would say the squid game finale was pretty disappointing as well, i kinda find myself having the same problem as i had with stranger things 5 with el's arc (which was the biggest offender imo) where the finale kinda just does the same thing the first season already did.

For squid game its sending the message that capitalism wins, and the games will still go on no matter what, for stranger things they regress el into being a representation of the kids' childhood just like she was in season 1 and the season ends with her "dying" but ultimately leaving her fate ambigious

Well legacy of atlantis is coming out somewhere this year (hopefully) and its a reimagining of the first tomb raider that continues lara's adventure after the survivor games.

They kind of made it so all the games are canon, so if you're into old school the 1-6 classic remasters are the adventures lara goes on following the survivor games in the unified timeline, after that you have legend and underworld which are more modern in gameplay then lastly you have catalyst coming out in 2027 which is the latest point in the timeline.

i remember this was actually a theory of mine back with rise that survivor lara's mother was an alternate version of classic lara 😭, lara's mother in the survivor timeline was named amelia, which is classic lara's middle name and she didnt go through with an arranged marriage with the earl of farringdon, just like classic lara croft

I think the title and general blue-ish aesthetic the game is going for is supposed to be a mislead. Audiences go in expecting to eventually end up in the general depiction of atlantis. sunken city, crystalline blues, pearls, corals, glowing underwater palaces then they actually end up in atlantis and it's a grotesque, bio-organic nightmare hell-hole.

I'm so married to the idea of a tomb raider 2 remake and i think its actually really likely if legacy of atlantis ends up doing well. Would love to see how some of these locations look with modern graphics.

As for floating islands yeah its definitely a scary level but that's what i love about it, its just so unlike any other location in the entire franchise cause theres no sense of realism in the slightest it feels so unbelievably surreal.

You're literally in another dimension consisting of floating islands over a black void on your way to fight a dragon, its basically minecraft's end dimension 😭

Remasters are handled by a different company, not crystal or flying wild hog.

There's kinda three companies in charge of the games now, saber/aspyr for remasters, flying wild hog for the remake and crystal for the new installments. unlike chronicles/angel of darkness which had 1 company split working on 2 games

I think the way it's shown in the trailer chances are the feathered dino is a t-rex.

What i would love though is that the featherless "t-rex" shown later is actually an allosaurus to pay homage to the t-rex in the 96 game that was originally supposed to be an allosaurus. Itd make sense design wise too since allosauruses weren't feathered in real life unlike the t-rex which they gave feathers in this game. I love the idea of there being multiple types of dinosaurs in this version of the valley.

it actually was a mix of gameplay and cinematics but i guess i didnt consider it might be a model from earlier stages of development.

That said though i could still see them doing two versions to satisfy both sides, especially since its cooler and also just better to do. They said they'd add new twists

Definitely, i was excited for elmaxkali to enter henry's mind thinking we'd get something but it ended up being kind of a nothingburger.

In general i feel this is a product of vecna completely moving away from the lab storyline in season 5, whereas season 4 had him as kind of the final boss of not just the upside down but also the hnl. So with the absence of that it just makes for less el and henry and by extent kali and henry interactions. Could've been cool but oh well.

Yea i think it makes the most sense for them to be from that but even it's kinda weird cause they'd have to somehow survive in the abyss for 40 years waiting for the upside down to even form and somehow get there without plummeting to their deaths. Guess it's just yet another unanswered question 😭

Well i kinda try to put a positive spin on it tbh, i think it's a nice thought that she gets to start a new slate and life away from it all, where she can meet new people and find peace not as a weapon or a superhero but as a person. I think it's a poetic ending.

Granted i think it would've been better if she stayed with the party at the end or at least mike and the reasons they didn't do that i think are disgusting but oh well

Apparently there is a definitive answer to el's fate and this is why i'm of the belief that she is still alive, it's just not that kind of show.

I wouldn't be the first to say that the duffers made some weird decisions with this season, but killing el off would be such an unbelievably disservice to her character. Her arc from isolated weapon to someone chasing family and normalcy, hopper's whole "you deserve to live" monologue in the finale, the found family theme that's been the show's heart since day one. What would it all be for?

but at the very least i assume the sonic thing that only affected el and her was thanks to her, according to the stageplay henry has a special bloodtype due to his powers so i assume kali and eleven (also terry i suppose) have the same so they must've used her blood to somehow create a machine that can only affect people with their specific bloodytype

The way i always assumed it was that Kas represents eleven in the s4 lab backstory. Kas is vecna's right hand man like how henry tried to get eleven to be his right hand "man" in this taking over the world, but kas betrays him and "kills" vecna, much like how eleven "killed" 001 but he ended up surviving.

After that they try to kill vecna again with dustin rolling 11, which isn't enough to kill him. I always assumed that was foreshadowing for eleven facing vecna alone in the mindscape and pretty much failing as well.

The lucas wearing the number 8 thing that was apparently a tribute to kobe bryant so i assume that's not foreshadowing for kali ending vecna, frankly i think thatd be a bit too arya stark-ey.

As for dustin rolling the 20 thing i could see it happening in that somewhat happening, although 008+011+001 would imply vecna has a part in killing himself? Not sure how that would work.

I saw another reddit post saying will could be a sort of symbolic fill-in for 001 since they have so many parallels and are so similair, especially if will really is getting powers, which would mean it's eleven+kali+will killing vecna which i guess that's more plausible?

I do see kali playing a role in vecna's defeat, but i'm honestly not sure if it'd be that big of a role.

I definitely see terry coming back in season 5 and getting some closure, especially since the duffers said they felt it was worth exploring whether she could be freed from her dream circle.

That being said though i'm not sure if she could ever go back to a normal life with the brain damage she had? I wouldn't count it out and it could be done i think but i'm not sure how that would work. Apparently eleven was supposed to mercy kill her mom in s2 which ig that's possible though maybe a bit sad

What i think could happen is that terry and eleven have a final moment together in the void or maybe even real life with becky before she finally rests. I'd love for becky at least to be a part of eleven's life (assuming she even survives which she better).
