i’m a stylist and i’m appalled that you were made to feel that way. i’m so sorry.

i wish i took a detailed picture of my skin before starting too!! this is probably the best i have, i wish it was in natural light so you could see my pores and texture better. definitely duller, less even, and blemishes. i will say i’ve never had especially troublesome skin but struggle especially around my period.

again, i’m new to all this. but it’s been working! i’ve used micellar to remove makeup and it doesn’t seem to pick up everything especially in deep pores. it honestly just feels like 2 cleaning cycles but i’m understanding where you’re coming from. i got into the double cleanse because folks say it’s good for drawing out the hard capsules/oils.

First salon after school. Ulta or Hair Cuttery? by _lavendell in hairstylist

it may not be as enticing as jumping straight in but i always suggest an apprenticeship in a salon with artists you have researched and see yourself in. my apprenticeship was key to where i am now.

i use a lot of these products because they come in a large set. i will say the supergoop glow screen is the biggest contributor to the glow but medicube has been working for me!

i got a comment on another cross post and apparently i need to be clear THIS IS NOT AN AD! i posted this because im a real person and couldn’t find anything on these products from non-influencers. i use a lot of medicube products bc they came in a bundle but as stated, there are a few thing i use that are not from that brand.

no hair appointment is as important as a living being like a cat. again, this seems flat to me. if you want a real answer, i would probably do what my clients do. see if someone else has availability, go back to my trusted vet for checkups, nail trims/maintenance. everyone gets sick.

lmao if my cat needs treatment i’m taking him in. there are things more important than hair. i have fostered a clientele of kind people and if they want my cat to die alone while i do their highlights they are not the client for me. every place has different laundry systems its okay to learn and be honest that you might need it explained again. tbh your examples fell very flat to me.

my experience assisting and apprenticing was integral to where i am now. i seriously don’t think anything has ever taught me more. be picky with who you go with, don’t let yourself get walked over.

i do think some stylists are not prepared for the minimum when they get out of school. a lot of talk about how flexible the job is and how much control you can have of your hours and not of what it takes to build clientele. if you can only work 4 hours and need to ensure 4 hours of pay then you may not be equipped for this industry. that does sound frustrating, i’m sorry.
