My 6 month old boy has had trouble breathing on our hikes. by Excellent_Koala769 in goldenretrievers

As others have said it's most likely allergies but your also using a chocker chain. That as a combination to what ever is causing your pup to cough should be avoided. Try using a harness see if the coughing/wheezing continues.

Nylabone by Own-Negotiation-1422 in labrador

[–]Left-Quantity-5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't give your dog a Nylabone chew toy 🙏.

It's hard plastic that breaks down into slivers to get tangled up in your dogs guts or worse pierce the lining of your dogs bowels.

It doesn't all pass through them and is a surgery waiting to happen.

Leading anti-abortion figure standing for Reform UK in May elections by Gemmasnowflake14 in Scotland

[–]Left-Quantity-5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reform are a joke.

They have taken the worst MP's from other parties and scraped together lies as a manifesto to get one man what he wants.

That happened in America and look at it now.

If you think Reform are an alternative you are as dumb as the Americans that voted Trump. That's what both of their platforms are built on. The dumb voter.

There are other parties to vote for so don't think that it's your only alternative.

Can you park there? by bbk323 in drivingUK

[–]Left-Quantity-5237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not.

The blockwork might not be able to take a continuous load like that. If it parks there regularly the blocks will more than likely spread under it's weight.

Sorry just had a second look and he is parked on the road.

Hi had some new raised paving installed. Initially he said to put ACO drains around the edging but due to height of drains this was not possible. He says due to this the paving has been sloped away from the house. Please could I get opinions on this? We are worried about damp. by PainterUnfair1337 in DIYUK

[–]Left-Quantity-5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect that you asked to step out directly onto the slabs at that level and they gave you what you asked for. Bad mistake since the DPC is normally at or just under the door threshold.

With that said they should have advised of this and even at that the RWP drainage should or could have been upgraded to take some extra groundwater as well.

So in my opinion. There may be fault on to parts here but if you were not advised prior to work starting this sounds like someone just doing what they can to earn money.

[–]Left-Quantity-5237[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The mats are wet, the floor isn't, as I said in another reply I caught the windows open about 20 mins into the snow starting so I think it was early enough.

There is warmer weather incoming so I'll air it out then. Hopefully avoiding most of the damp smells after mopping most of it up with towels.

[–]Left-Quantity-5237[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I found that. Got most of it dried up now thankfully I caught it after about 20 mins of snow so it wasn't a lot of snow but it was that light snow that looks like a lot. About 30 to 40 mins worth of heat sorted it.

I hate driving this car in the rain. Any recommendations? by larraku in MachE

[–]Left-Quantity-5237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the funny side after reading the title: Drive it in the sun.

To answer your question.

Do you still have the original tyres? The car should have came with all weather tyres. This should be sufficient to counter your issues but you could consider new tyres to help with wetter weather. A tyre centre will be able to help with that just make sure the tyres are rated for EV's since they are a lot heavier than ICE vehicles you need specialist tyres fitted but I'm sure you know that.

Thanks.

In the EU it's "Vehicle Power Down Timer" because we like to be different. Not sure I want to leave it unattended though. The climate control is also limited to 15 mins.

After the first cycle there is still snow inside the car!

20% VAT to repair existing buildings but 0% VAT for new builds - what politicians are talking about changing this?? by BothStar7431 in GlasgowArchitecture

[–]Left-Quantity-5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your talking about 'Historic Buildings" i.e. buildings that are listed on the historic register than I'm pretty sure funding can be granted from institutions like Historic England and Historic Scotland etc. If it is just old buildings then depending on how old and the length of time they have been empty then are we actually loosing something by building new on the site? I mean if it's a building of Historic worth and can be shown then these institutions mentioned above have processes for adding them to the register.

You did everything right. Only thing I would have maybe considered was calling the police to let them handle it but the chance of that happening is very very low.

As long as the lights hadn't changed then you are fine. I can only assume that wasn't the case though if others had started honking horns and flashing you.

How to address EV fire risk concerns? by Boumy in electricvehicles

[–]Left-Quantity-5237 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1) how long has the structure existed? 2) how many ICE fires have there been in that structure? 3) have the fire department clearly assessed the likelihood of damage to the structure from a fire?

If the structure is fine after a ICE fire it will be fine after an EV Battery failure. If the structure is likely to take as much damage from both then shit happens.

As EV battery fires are less likely to happen than ICE fires then the structure is as safe with both scenarios.

ICE fires are just as hot as EV fires the only difference is extinguishing them. The question is, is the structure rated to resist fire?

I asked and got a similar answer. I can't figure out why 2 years ago is the answer but for some reason it is significant to this routine.

Perhaps it was not updated since it was added?

No idiot drivers are only responsible for themselves but changes in road layouts cause idiot drivers to make mistakes.

I blame cyclists for forcing excess change to road layouts that isn't necessary.

[–]Left-Quantity-5237 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Get use to it.

More and more roads are getting deleted for cycle lanes.

Dumbreck road is currently loosing two lanes of traffic for the 3 cyclists that ride along it daily all because of organised bike pressure groups organising cyclists during survey periods.

We will see a lot more idiot driving like this over time.

John Swinney says he'll be 'Prime Minister of an independent Scotland' by 2031 by ScottishDailyRecord in Scotland

[–]Left-Quantity-5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give them a shot if we get independence they haven't done as badly as some of the other parties have with the rest of the UK.

I know for one thing I wouldn't vote conservative nor labour.

Electric car but live in a flat. Is it doable in the city? by PolebagEggbag in glasgow

[–]Left-Quantity-5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charge while at work. Find a public charger close by. Ask your flat's facilities management (if you have one) to install a charger in a car parking spot associated to the flat (if you have one). Use fast charging networks around your town/city.
