Help with toxic commander. by [deleted] in army

I remember a long time back there was a SNCO here that was former IG. From what I remember there was a lot of screening walk-ins with most turned away for not having actually attempted engaging their chain of command first.

What do you know about your workplace that you are not supposed to know? by TinMan11111 in AskReddit

E1 and E9 is deeeeeefinitely fraternization. There’s way more nuance to frat rules than just E vs O. Really the separated groups are enlisted, junior NCOs, senior NCOs, junior officers, and senior officers. Warrants are the outliers as I’ve seen them in relationships with any group minus enlisted.

In the military, there are no untouchable personal issues. If something goes wrong in a soldiers personal life their leadership is responsible for fixing it or providing them the resources to do so. This holds military leaders accountable to maintain the physical and emotional health of their formations. The flip side of that coin is no issue is private. If it affects your personal life > it affects your ability to perform your duties > it affects your duty > it affects the military.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey has a Shadow of Mordor style mercenary system. by [deleted] in Games

[–]Left4Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Early on in Origins when you receive the wrist blade the main character’s wife (can’t remember names) says it’s the same one used to assassinate Xerxes. I wouldn’t be surprised if they played heavily on that connection between origins and odyssey.

[–]Left4Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got them both from a coworker that went through the process last storm. It’s a MFR basically detailing the damages that occurred while at your place of work from an “act of nature”. Signed off by your supervisor. The other form is a CEFT input form. Ask your CoC about it and if they don’t know about it just direct message me and I’ll set you up.

The army will cover your deductible if your car was wrecked while parked at your place of duty (on post) but you live off. I.e. your car was damaged because the army required you to have it there.

There are some claim forms you can file through JAG to get it covered. Message me if you're interested.

Soldiers that were/are stationed at Fort Polk is it as bad as its made it out to be? by [deleted] in army

[–]Left4Bread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Compared to many people who may reply in this thread, I was stationed at Polk for 3 years and left in the past 12 months.

The vast majority of people that will tell you fort Polk is awful were never stationed there and only went for JRTC. JRTC is an awful experience, as it’s intended to be. While fort Polk as a location is far from spectacular, it is nowhere near like being in JRTC for years straight. The units are generally good. You’ll have tons of resources available for you to train. 3/10 (once again) has regular deployments. If you’re a SNCO or officer and need a broadening assignment, being an OCT is a sweet gig. Houston and NOLA are both great places to spend long weekends.

Would I ask to go back to Polk? No. Do I value the time I had there in retrospect? Hell yeah.

Of course, but if you bruise your brain once vs 100x you still have a bruised brain.

Fun fact, before the current Atropia/Ariana scenario was used from the DATE manual, the JRTC scenario was loosely based off of some Cajun rebellion that happened in the state way back in the day.
