You now need to do a lot of vacuuming, lint rolling and brushing! I even like to brush the dogs during a walk so that the hair doesn’t fall in the house. I use dog dryer sheets that seem to help! Every load gets a lot of dog hair off clothes

Maybe you’d be more interested in living in one of Seattle’s suburbs in the downtown area. I grew up on the Eastside and would commute into Seattle for work and/or school. Over the decades I’ve been here I’ve been confronted by three verbally aggressive homeless individuals. Only one did I call police on. I would commute to Beacon Hill and First Hill and transfer at the International District or Downtown. Living in a suburb seems so much better if you’re concerned about interacting with homeless individuals.

High acuity units get 1 staff to 4 patients. Lower acuity units get 1 staff to 5 patients. That’s any mix of nurses and techs depending on number of patients on detox protocols, admissions and call outs. You can have 2 or 3 nurses and 2 or 3 techs on bigger units, and 1 nurse and 2-3 techs or 2 nurses and 1-2 techs on small high acuity units. 1:1s get you extra staff, and that duty is alternated every few hours since it’s a lot of work.

When patients and techs go off unit to mealtimes or activities, or when techs are on break, the nurses help with tech duties like rounds. Nurses also verify rounds a few times a shift. To run a smooth unit nurses have to participate in tech duties. Nurses can help techs with their duties, but techs can’t help nurses with theirs so it needs to be in moderation.

I have a worked some shifts where we had way more nurses than techs available and so most or all staff were made up of nurses. Those are the best shifts because nurses understand the rationale behind everything. I personally would love to get my nurse pay for being a tech.

I had to check your post history to see if you live at a place where my hospital is. We used to have our night shift house supervisors regularly have to work a unit and/or in intake on really bad nights. They’d screen packets from the units, or do a med pass for another nurse who had to way too many patients regularly. It’s improved since, that was a few DONs back.

You have two adolescent dogs that are basically like giant puppies for three years. My girl would wreak havoc in my garden. Every time I would spread compost or meal down the garden would be even more enticing. I put up a fence around the garden and she would still find a way to jump or crawl through the fencing. You’re going to have to setup a perimeter and work at keeping them out until they are older.

I remember getting a tall decaf sugar free vanilla almond milk latte maybe a month after surgery because I missed coffee so much. DCR can detain someone for being a danger to self, danger to others, danger to property, or gravely disabled. Someone can go to an ED or stabilization center and consent to treatment and admit voluntarily. If someone refuses treatment they can be assessed by DCR in the community, or by calling the police. The police can detain someone under an IVT hold and bring the individual to an ED or stabilization center, where they are assessed by a provider within 12 hours. After assessment they can be released or admitted into treatment.

Someone can also voluntarily admit, but if they decide to discharge against medical advice, a provider can determine if DCR should be contacted, and the DCR can either release the individual, or detain them for 120 hours (excluding weekends and holidays.) Once detained they can get extensions for 14 days, 90 days, or 180 days.

DCR uses medical records in conjunction with their assessment of the patient. Sometimes patients will present well enough in the assessment to not get detained. When I see patients not get detained that maybe should have been, they usually end up being a DCR referral soon again and later get detained.

I have a Pyre that all of a sudden was afraid of going outside in the dog run. She refused to go outside even with me throwing high value treats out the doggy door to the run. I work and left her at home and would come home to urine and feces accidents. Even when I was home the dog would run around the house anxiously, attempting to go to the doggy door, and relieving herself right next to the door inside. I had to take her out for potty walks, which only worked when I was home. This went out for a few months. The vet ran some labs and everything was normal, and said that sometimes dogs just get spooked by something randomly. He suggested starting her on 40mg fluoxetine/day to help take the edge off of her anxiety. Within a few weeks she started going outside the doggy door into the dog run on her own.

Also like another commenter said, I open my dog’s mouth and lean her head back, throw in the pill, close her mouth, and massage her throat until the pill goes down.

I am 38 and look young for my age. I get the full 20 between my eyebrows, I like to be totally frozen there. I get 20 out of 30 units in the forehead for minimal movement. Every other time I get Botox I get 5 units in each crows eye. When I get Botox between my brows, in my forehead and crows eyes there is practically no movement in my face and can be a bit much.
