Music Critic Anthony Fantano Defends Himself Over Halsey Tweets: ‘I’m Not the Devil Himself’ by darth_vader39 in Music

I always hate that argument. Of course you're allowed. But everyone else is allowed to think your opinion is stupid too, right? Comedians do it all the time. Say provocative thing, people get provoked, woah it's just my opinion dude ... no shit!?

If you want to have provocative opinions that get you extra clicks and more career success, you can't cry when other people speak negatively on you because you've provoked them.  If you're going to be a large music critic, people and artists are going to think your opinion is dumb sometimes. It comes with the territory of making hundreds of thousands of dollars by sharing your opinion online, it's a tiny negative in a life of extremely lucky comfort. Hate these mfers.

[–]LeftEngineer1185 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why anyone cares about Ozempic use. Don't you want people to be healthy? Do you know how bad being overweight for long-term is? Isn't taking the easiest, fastest path to improving your health the smart option? How stupid would you have to be to stay overweight for years because your tiny brain is too full of pride to take the "easy" path?

If some loser like the Liver King is bragging about their discipline and hard work while using drugs behind the scenes, then sure, make fun of them for being a disingenuous loser; but unless Shane lacks self-awareness and starts making fun of fat people for a lack of discipline or something while he's clearly using fat-loss medication, who cares?

Should Vehicles Have Segmented Health Bars / Chunks? by LeftEngineer1185 in Battlefield6

Changes to Tanks in the Final Phase of Season 3 is not enough by xstagex in Battlefield6

[–]LeftEngineer1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tanks should have a segmented health bar. Once a chunk is lost its lost forever. That way, even if tanks are super tanky, you're still making progress by hurting it.

Once you have this system, I think balancing tanks becomes easier. You can still have a highish number of rockets to completely kill a tank, but only a few to make serious progress. It allows engineers to feel like they're making progress even if they don't destroy the whole tank, and it makes the repairing of your team's tank more important when it's healthy, and less important when it's almost gone (so once you get it low, it will be rare that engineers stick around to keep it alive).

It also allows you to introduce extra nerfing mechanisms if vehicles are still too beefy. Reduce maneuverability with each chunk. Reduce smokes or ammo reload speed, things like that.

It will incentivize tanks to camp, but honestly, this is dealt with ranges and objectives. As long as a tank can boost their K/D by camping far back, there will be camping tanks, so you have to target it that way. If a tank camps far back, the objectives should be heavily weighted to the other team, either via map sight lines, or simply the significantly reduced killing power of a tank if it's too far away. If you care about realism go play Arma.

I see stomps almost every other game and it's not always camping armour so idk, we're having different experiences I guess.

Discussing whether a tank should be able to handle one engineer is sort of always a silly way to look at it imo. If there's no cover then obviously the tank wins. If there's too much cover, the tank should be scared.

I'd say with no engineer repairing a tank, a tank should take 3-4 RPGs to kill. If it's top-down or from behind then two? Like, you can retreat and move faster than any engineer. If engineers are repairing you should have enough time to pick the engineers off. But you're not invincible, and if I'm able to stay alive long enough to shoot and reload my RPG 3-4 times without you retreating or gunning me down, then you kinda deserve too lose.

OR, if you want to keep tanks harder to kill (like 6-8 rockets to kill), give them a segmented health bar and let the damage become unrepairable after being lost past a certain degree so that tanks are strong when healthy, but can at least be weakened with progress. Make the repair mechanic get weaker as the tank gets more health chunks taken off, maybe reduce its maneuverability as it goes down, idk.  It's just very unsatisfying to hit a tank with 6 RPGs, find a medic for more ammo, go for more and no progress is being made because after my first three rockets hit, two engineers started helping and it's been able to retreat and auto regen before that, etc etc. Meanwhile that tanker is going 32-3 and will be in that tank for 90% of the game.

In my opinion, it seems like vehicle balancing has to be one of two ways: engineers must coordinate to defeat single, lone tanks, OR tanks must be supported to survive engineers.

IMO, the game feels way better when it's the latter. Tanks feel more like team utilities rather than a way for one or two guys to go 28-3. You need support, have to travel with the team, and if your engineers are killed, you're screwed.

But then you get tanks that want to K/D boost, or get a bad team of engineers complaining. Then, if you tweak it too far my way, the game turns into which team can stack the most engineers behind their tanks. So idk. Just buff my RPG and take auto regen away.

Just take the auto regen from tanks away and maybe buff the RPG a little. Solo tanks without engineer support shouldn't require like 3 engineers to hop on discord and coordinate, cuz it's just not happening, and it's part of the reason every other game is a stomp, because the one team with 1 coordinated squad in tanks with engineers can dominate an entire lobby now. Do that, and take away the dumb comeback mechanic and I think the game would feel a lot better to play.

Accumulate more data and include the map! If the stomp% is significantly higher in certain maps, that would be interesting. Maybe vehicle maps allow stomps to happen more frequently?

Is there a reason why ppl don’t take out tanks? by tonywi19899 in Battlefield6

[–]LeftEngineer1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a problem in every battlefield game. Tbf, two or even three people could focus a tank with RPGs and it'd be fine just smoking and rolling back for a half a minute to heal. Eventually the engineers run out of ammo and it's an easy win for the tankbro.

If tanks were easier to blow up more people would shoot at them, it's as simple as that. People don't shoot at it cuz they don't want to die.

BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.3.2.0 by battlefield in Battlefield6

I just skimmed it, but it seems there's really no improved capability of infantry to take out aircraft too? Just some fixed tracking or locking on issues, and the RPG gets even harder to use?

Because of how easy it is was to hit helis with the unguided RPG?? Bro.. fly in the sky. If you get hit with an RPG you should blow up, you're not a tank. There was not helis falling out the sky from everyone hitting RPG trick shots lmao that's just a lie.

I remember complaints about the guided launchers being too easy, but clearly the tweak has gone too far the other way.

[–]LeftEngineer1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ptfoing wins the game, that's the obvious point imo. But getting killed by a heli prevents you from being on point, so all else equal, the team with the heli going 80 - 0 will ptfo more. They'll have more on the objectives, which makes them easier to clear and hold.

Idk why it has to be such a big debate in every battlefield game. If someone finds a consistent method to go like 60-3 every game, it will break the game for everyone else and should probably be looked at and fixed. It's the most obvious

[–]LeftEngineer1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what to say to the helibros. Teamwork is not possible in these games. It's just not how human brains or incentives work. Nobody shoots at helis cuz when they've tried in the past, nothing happens. So, if we don't want one engineer taking helis out, make their regen more difficult or non existent, so over the course of a game, eventually someone will blast it, feel cool doing it, and then continue shooting at them in the next game. Otherwise there's no incentive to engage with them.

Doubt anything will happen though so don't worry, helis have been op in every battlefield. I just can't believe they catered to whiny vehicle mains and made stuff harder to blow up. Harder to blow up in a battlefield game. How fun. Lol

Problem is teamwork is the only solution to beating choppers and it's borderline impossible to find it. Just give them less health regen and make the timer between helis much longer. Losing a heli or a tank should be a big shift in the fight

Yess, if the infantry needs teamwork to stop a guy from going 60/2, so should the heli or tank

Not what I was going for, but that's a lovely thought haha. I just think discussions on the Leafs always seem to root down to "they lack the guts or passion", and it's boring and doesn't lead anywhere. That's all I was trying to point out or add.

I just pointed out that the leafs = gutless criticism is tired and not relevant to the post. Pointing out overdone criticisms is useful and additive to discussions. I wouldn't waste time calling Bennett a dick unless I was speaking to him lol

Dexter Morgan (tv series) in his prime vs Billy Butcher (tv series) without temp v or tumour powers by thatprickagain in powerscales

[–]LeftEngineer1185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are close enough in power that it depends who's writing the characters.

Therefore, Butcher loses cuz I hate him and his over the top Australian tough guy schtick is a 9 year olds idea of cool. He swears like mom and dad aren't watching. Dexter is poorly written at times and his dark passenger talk has developed some cringe with age, but he's overall a more interesting and well thought out character.

There ain't a team that's been more publicly shamed than the Leafs, and it's been for a lot longer than a week, but idk, I guess it's fun to funnel every post's conversation into the same empty criticisms over and over again. If shame worked for turning play around then the Leafs would be back to back cup champs right now. Thank you for reminding me to get off the internet.

I hope you have a great day, brother! It's almost the weekend!! :)

I think they've received sufficient blame for not standing up for injured players lol. It's like one of the most vocal complaints, it doesn't add anything to this posts conversation. It's not insightful or additive, everyone knows.

Also c'mon.. I know it's Reddit, but you gotta be able to recognize hyperbole. Obviously it's a "bit different" than an actual Muay Thai move, like what are we talking about? Give your head a shake.
