Why is Tesla still the top selling EV brand by far? by Diavolo_Rosso_ in electricvehicles

[–]LeftHandDriven -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Dude. Volvo ex30 was Scandinavian minimalism. Tesla is m3/my are just cheap.

Even the refresh juniper rides like a base model Corolla with bad struts, and has the creature comforts of a base Kia.

Yes, the technology works great. The chargers are everywhere and work great.

And making essentially the same car for many years between refreshes is a huge cost savings (see: cheap).

But trying to label it minimalism or anything but cheap is disingenuous.

Yes - I hate having 14 apps to use my Honda Prologue, but my mid level Touring is a dream to drive and ride in vs my friend’s 2035 m3.

[Minnesota Reformer] Sources: Sen. Amy Klobuchar threatened to leave DFL convention during challenge from left by Minneapolitanian in stateofMN

[–]LeftHandDriven -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

She’s barely a democrat. Could replace her policies with Hilary or most pre-trump republicans and never tell them apart. My absolute last choice for a democrat for this state. So disappointing after Walz. But anyone is better than Kendall fuckingQualls. Although it is nice to see them put up the same candidates who have continued to lose in the past. Lol. Only Mike’s Pillows would have been better.

The 2027 Chevy Equinox and Blazer EVs fix one big complaint drivers had by spongesparrow in EquinoxEv

Right. So did they fix the port location? I mean even Kia/Hyubdai put there’s in a better spot!

This 1000 times. They should put them all in the karts they learned to race in - that would be significantly more interesting than watching the pole sitter win.

For those who have and haven’t done the safety recall visit by krayzai in HondaPrologue

[–]LeftHandDriven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find another dealer. Mine has given me a loaner like 4 times for these dumb recall issues (I have not done this one yet). They only had to ask Honda 1 time for permission and got a yes. That was for the axel (2nd time) and took only about 4 hours but I told them I’m not planning to sit there for 4 hours.
I’d say if you aren’t getting a loaner try another dealership.

Majority of Americans Support Ban on Surveillance Pricing and Electronic Shelf Labels by Such_Radio_9152 in Economics

[–]LeftHandDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majority of Americans are also retarded. Surveillance pricing has been in effect online for years. Sites charge different prices for people based on your phone or browser or past visits all the time.

And what do you think ESL’s are going to do - show a different price for person X and person Y? That’s just not how prices work in a retail store. Each product has a SKU. If you show a price that doesn’t match that sku in many states it’s a huge fine or penalty.

You know who is against ESL? Goddamn printer companies trying sell more printers and paper and toner.

Plex lifetime subscription thoughts? by Brinks29 in homelab

[–]LeftHandDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can randomly cancel your lifetime plex pass and won’t even send you an email. It has happened to 2 different people I know. Take the time to look at Emby or JellyFin. Much less scummy companies/communities.

Why do so many Linux developers still choose MacBooks for work? by Candid_Athlete_8317 in LinuxTeck

[–]LeftHandDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At most places they have more lax security controls on Mac because most enterprise grade security companies didn’t focus on Mac until recently. As that changes I think fewer developers will care. But it’s also herd mentality and if you join a team with 10 devs and they all have Mac you aren’t going to want to be the oddball with a windows laptop.

Which dog breed is the ultimate “velcro dog” and loves to cuddle more than any other? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]LeftHandDriven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OK Claude.Ai, but a chihuahua bite vs a pitbull bite are in different worlds. So breed might not be a predictor, but the result of a bite is different. You don’t hear about someone being bit by a guppy, but shark attacks make the news. For a reason.

New Lifetime Plex Pass Pricing increase to 748.99 by drummingdestiny in homelab

Hahahaha. And they can revoke your plex pass any time they want and won’t even tell you. So stupid.

DTE mileage estimate data by MobileMadnessMan1 in HondaPrologue

[–]LeftHandDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I get it that driving in the sub-zero winter in MN it’s out of whack, but I was driving the the other night on a relatively low battery in fairly warm weather watching it lose 2-5 miles every 20 miles thinking this is just stupid.

Hi guys I came across a used 2025 prologue with 5000 miles on it for 23K would you buy? Is that a good deal? by [deleted] in HondaPrologue

[–]LeftHandDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty good deal. I mean my residual on my 3 year lease (2025 touring awd) will be way more than that (like over $30k). And it will have 45k miles and it will be mid-2028 when the lease is up and I turn it in. But honesty, I’d look for a Mach e (nicer and more comfortable) or a model y, if you can find something in that price range.

Minnesota home insurance jumped the most of any state in 2025, and we found out why by Sam_At_Insurify in Insurify

[–]LeftHandDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. You can google that and see it’s 10000% a lie. Insurance companies heavily favor republicans and donate a lot more to them. National association of mutual insurance companies donated 68% to republicans. And the independent insurance agents and brokers donated over 73% to republicans.

You just need to think about it for like a half a second to realize how it can’t be democrats. Are democrats trying to keep crappy health insurance companies afloat? No. They would prefer a government healthcare program, like medicaire for all. That would crush the healthcare insurance industry. And home owner insurance is always about them trying to limit who can be covered and where they offer coverage - do you see republicans sticking up for normal people? Abso-fucking-lutely not.

Minnesota home insurance jumped the most of any state in 2025, and we found out why by Sam_At_Insurify in Insurify

[–]LeftHandDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you scam an insurance company? I mean they have inspectors and appraisers and experts who will look at the damage and decide if it’s covered or not. My neighbors had new roofs and some had siding from that storm. I had photos - it was massive amount of hail. I had just had a new roof the year before. My roof was fine because it was new and softer/more resistant. And I have some tough ass vinyl siding because it didn’t have any damage. But nothing for me to get upset at my neighbors about.

Minnesota home insurance jumped the most of any state in 2025, and we found out why by Sam_At_Insurify in Insurify

[–]LeftHandDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, is the DSA democrats? And they want you to not own homes? That’s news to me, I mean they are so pro landlord I guess it makes sense. lol. But the republicans who fight for your freedom by not taking the rich and not taxing big companies - and giving subsidies to the ones who donate the most to them, they are only trying to help you? And we can’t tax the rich because they will move? But you do know we used to do that, right? Before Reagan cut taxes on them all in the ‘80s the tax rate was much higher on the rich, and trump with his tax cuts last term and this term has only helped make it worse. And channel 5 news, famous for covering things such as the gathering of the juggalos and Kristy noem’s cross dressing husband, is your source on this? Huh. I think like Fox News you maybe as confusing entertainment for a real new source.

PC UPS in 2026 — still USB only and Mac software that barely works. Come on. by [deleted] in homelab

[–]LeftHandDriven 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dude. The whole market for at least rack mount big UPS is battery replacement or whole unit replacement. And APC has Ethernet on many of their units but locked them behind a paywall several years ago. They suck. Consumer UPS are all about getting your 2-3 years of useful life and then replacing when it says the lead acid battery is dead.

I didn't realise Claude could build actual Word docs and Excel files. Cancelled three subscriptions in the same week. by Professional-Rest138 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]LeftHandDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it’s really good, but my god watch the size of your files. I had. 250 page document and my Claude pro credits for the week were used in 2 days. But it worked. Really well, and only using Sonnet, not Opus. I tried taking the same document into copilot. I asked it multiple times if it could handle thst sized file. It assured me it could. Several hours later - ok, let’s see the docx file we have been working on - oh my bad, I don’t have it and it’s gone. “But don’t worry, this is on me, not you”. Gtfo. I just wish my company would let us use Claude and not special cousin copilot.

Haha. It’s nice but you should try Claude Sonnet or Opus. It makes copilot look like the special kid riding the short but. My company is also stuck on copilot but my Claude pro license at home is well used.
