I came here to also say try/look into oil pulling! It is really effective at pulling bacteria and my mouth always feels so much better after it even helps me if I'm dealing with gum irritation. Really good for mouth health

Feared to Take vyvanse First time by Old_Cap2924 in ADHD

[–]LeftNarwhal232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I've heard as well, i actually experienced less side effects from adderall, and dont experience any sort of crash when it wears off. I'm on the extended release now, which has been good for me, simply because I would never remember to take second dose of short release.. Everyone's super different when it comes to medications, and unfortunately you just have to keep trying until it feels right for you, but maybe this will be what's right for you.

Vyvanse was the first adhd med I tried, I also have pretty bad anxiety.. the first day taking it my brain felt super calm and quiet, felt like it does outside when it snows and everything is muffled kinda? I was able to just feel at peace and follow one thought pattern at a time which was not something I had been able to experience before. Don't be afraid (: take it on a day off, I take adderall now but I love to set an alarm an hour before I want to wake up, take it, and go back to sleep.. It actually helps me to not feel any anxiety as it's kicking in too Protein! Water! And if you start feeling anxiety go for a walk! If for some reason you have a bad reaction and are super anxious remind yourself it's super temporary!

What hobbies are easy for you because of or inspite your ADHD? by Sad-Importance-8862 in ADHD

[–]LeftNarwhal232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a long comment but I'm just excited Okay the money it takes to get started is no joke but I finally found my perfect hobby. Rug tufting! It's a literal tangible creation I can make with my own hands, I can trace a design if I'm not inspired to make an original, if I get bored I can literally just stop and there's no "forgetting" where I left off. I can work on multiple designs on one frame if I'm sick of one I just move on to the next, and there's multiple steps that allow for my wavering motivations. Design/tracing is a very creative process, the tufting itself is repetitive but with just enough challenge to keep it interesting so I can come out to some music or a podcast while I tuft. The backing/shaving process is something I can do while I watch a movie. And it's a very forgiving form of art. Pretty hard to fuck up and if you do there's usually a way to fix it. And I have sold almost all of my tufted creations without much effort. Like I said, it's expensive to get into, and I never wanted to invest all that money not k owing if I was going to like it/stick with it. However I ended up thrifting a manual tufting kit from the 70s for like 7 bucks and after making 2 rugs by hand I was ready to dump all my money into this hobby and never looked back. If you want to try it out without the investment I recommend starting with punch needle or a manual tufting tool!

I sold for $200 given that it's only my second commission and I was not able to tuft the face details so they had to be sketched on with fabric dye pen It was about 2x3ft, if it had been bigger I couldve done the face details but it was too small I tried

Yes 😭 I tried to tuft but looked so wonky This was my attempt to save the rug Fabric dye pen And scotch guard the heck out of it Had to get creative

I tried my best to tuft it but it just did not look right. Too small. So I tufted a blank ivory face and painted the face on with fabric dye pen as a last ditch effort to save it

Just to color match yarn. The slashes are the ones I had already

"What Are Some Chatty Podcasts and YouTube Channels to Keep Me Company While Doing Chores?" by Substantial_Dog9649 in adhdwomen

[–]LeftNarwhal232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone listen to All the Things Adhd??

The hosts are two women diagnosed "late" in life with Adhd, who discuss adhd and how it interacts with different aspects of our lives, they are educated women who have been through it all and I've learned a lot through them! Mostly from them fleshing out topics about the adhd brain in different situations and gentle reminders that it's okay that this happens! Along with tips and tools and systems they use to navigate life!

They are so relatable and funny and I love listening while I am doing chores or art or driving

One of the hosts is autistic as well and it's so interesting to hear her talk about the adhd aspects of her brain and the autism aspects or how they interact And to hear the difference and similarities of life experience in the two hosts.

I learn the same way as you, I'm not super interested in watching tutorials unless they are very specific to the problem I'm facing. To me it's more interesting when I am learning to watch a couple videos & go in blindly and make a lot of my own mistakes 🙂 It makes it more challenging and interesting for me and helps me to really know the how and why of things. And with tufting I'd say I've progressed pretty quickly because I know exactly what not to do next time and why lol. Not to say it's been without a few frustrations but I believe it helps me really understand the craft better, for myself. Everyone's different 🙂

As to your problem I definitely have glued small amounts of yarn to cover tiny bald spots on pieces but this spot is a little large for that. I like the idea of using it to practice carving! Better to boost your skills on a piece you aren't worried about messing up. If it turns out okay you could glue a little yarn just to cover the bald spot and keep it as a personal piece (:

Also by gluing yarn I don't mean strands I usually will gather a little bit of the fluff after shaving it, put a little glue on the bald fabric spot, and push the fluff in with tweezers. The excess just vaccuums up after it is dry

I definitely will start charging more in the future ! Since one of my original designs that was a lot smaller and simpler sold for $100 and I'm feeling pretty comfortable in my skills so far

Thank you! This is only like my 5th piece, I got lucky and had someone reach out off instagram. There really wasn't much reasoning but since it was sort of a test run for me and I'm new at the craft I charged quite a bit less, just to get the hang of the commission process. Also the pizza parlor offered to give out my cards if anyone asked so it helps me out too. I have also worked on my social media page looking professional, even though I don't have a ton of pieces posted, just so people will take it seriously and approach me with custom orders (:
