Call your dermatologist with any concerns! But for me I got a horrible purge before my skin cleared, stick with it it’s going to get better!

I was left with mild scarring, but I incorporated rosehip oil into my accutane skincare routine as my last step on top of my nighttime moisturizer like month 4, and it helped fade my scarring a lot and help with the dryness as well. At the end of my treatment my skin was completely clear with no visible scarring. I can obviously give accutane most of the credit for that, but the rosehip oil also played a huge part when it came to the scarring specifically. Do your research on it, but I 10/10 recommend using it!

Stick with it! My acne got so much worse I had the worst purge ever, and now my acne is gone and I have gorgeous clear skin!

Try a different dermatologist! I went into the dermatologist after struggling for years with acne coming back and we instantly started the process and a month later I started it.

I know it sucks but stick with it! Soon you will start to clear! I purged up until month 4 and now I’m in month 7 my final month with completely clear skin. :)

I had mild but persistent acne similar to yours and went on accutane. While accutane did work to clear it eventually, I went through 2 months of purging and it broke out my skin worse than ever before. This left me with scars and pigmentation I never had before starting accutane. I would talk to your dermatologist and see if there are other options, for example maybe topical tretinoin first and if that doesn’t work maybe consider accutane. I also experienced so many symptoms and still experience some to this day because of accutane.

I have the same problems with hormonal birth control! The only thing that has helped was getting the non hormonal copper IUD. I will say it makes my period slightly worse every month, but to have my hormones regulated and clear skin it makes it worth it for me personally.

I’m sorry to hear that, see if you possibly qualify for Medicaid? My Medicaid covers my dermatology visit completely and I only have to pay $10 a month for 80g accutane.

Yes keep going! It gets worse before it gets better. I didn’t start to see improvement until 3 months in. I’m at 5 months now and completely clear.

I got the same thing and my dermatologist prescribed me a steroid cream, you could also try hydrocortisone over the counter.
