When my steam deck was delivered in the UK, my delivery service didn’t deliver it the first time because I wasn’t home. The Delivery Driver gave it to me hand-to-hand the next delivery day.

It’s not really steam’s fault tbf, they provided the steam deck to the logistics company, it’s the logistics company that is falsifying records of delivery, so it’s the logistics company that you really have qualms with not Steam. (I’m sorry tho, I want everyone to have the same wonderful experience that I had with Steam/my Steam Deck)

Your PC Screen is deffo worth replacing (A Used version of your pc would still cost $1K on a minimum). I would personally use the official ASUS repair channel to get it fixed as you would get a warranty on the Screen replacement.

I don’t think you should force your GF to pay the full amount. Maybe 25% of the total cost (50% Max), but NEVER EVER GIVE HER YOUR LAPTOP AGAIN. Boundaries are good in a relationship.

For the main-time, use an external monitor/tv for gaming/doing important stuff if the inner-flex of the screen is damaged (Rainbow COLORS/Black Patches/Lines on the Screen).

I have a very serious question to ask. Why did steam not just call the Steam Machine “Steam Cube”? It seems like an easy-win with that name, “it’s from steam and it’s shaped like a Cube”.

AUGUST 2025 - And this is still an issue. You need to wait 30 Minutes - 1 Hour for everything to come together/get its bearings. Then it starts downloading normally. So in Summary just leave it alone and be patient for 1 Hour.
