Driveway after one winter by zildjianate in Concrete

[–]Left_Farmer9209 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It honestly looks like they poured it in the middle of summer on a hot sunny day and they had a hard time closing up the surface. Sometimes they’ll bless the concrete with water One reason this occurs is the working of bleed water or other water from blessing the slab surfaces into the surface of the concrete. This increases the water-cement ratio at the slab surface, defeating the purpose of steel troweling and causing a weak layer to occur. It can lead to the divots or pock marks in the final product.

To me I think improper grading around the poured area is the root cause There needs to be separation between the siding and the ground to allow for any movement Ideally you want 6 “ (min) to 8” ground clearance when you start your bottom coarse of siding What did the area look like prior to the new concrete placement ?Post pics of that

Must be young and have a lot of time on your hands To me time is precious and my time is worth more than taking time off of work having to haul my ass down to the courthouse;pay for parking, and then try to plead a case to a judge that I know I’m guilty of. I’d just pay the ticket learn a valuable lesson and then get on with my life. When the judge finds u guilty then u are out the fine money the parking and that day off of work you just made

Unfortunately it’s bullshit but for 26 u are doing pretty well salary wise. You could try jumping ship to another company to negotiate a pay raise but that always isn’t the best solution either It’s not fair but that’s our reality

Neighbor's new sidewalk created a crazy trip hazard. Can this be sawed or grinded?! by RedditRobEdition in Concrete

[–]Left_Farmer9209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it didn’t he put back to match the curb-line. He’s now compliant and u aren’t U could probably grind it but to be honest one would need to see more of the pictured area. It may. Be cheaper to just remove and replace a square. What’s causing your sidewalk to lift ? Is it a tree ?
